Editorial Reviews

Review

"Migdalski is spot-on with this book. There's so much accurate and cutting-edge information on jigging, that anglers can't miss becoming more proficient at their game, regardless of experience level. By far, the Bible on saltwater jigging." (George Poveromo, Noted saltwater angling authority and Host of "George Poveromo's World of Saltwater Fishing" on ESPN2 )

"Tom Migdalski has really done his homework; I doubt any angler anywhere will fail to find a wealth of fascinating facts about these all-purpose lures. Even veteran anglers should gain new insight and ideas to help them choose and use jigs to catch more fish." (Doug Olander, Editor-in-Chief, "Sport Fishing" Magazine )

"From tuna to stripers, this book will pay big dividends. Migdalski not only profiles many well-kept secrets of the pros, he amply explains the techniques and reasons for their success. This book will have readers referring to it time and time again." (Capt. Al Anderson, IGFA Rep., RI, and author of "To Catch a Tuna" )

Migdalski has been a popular New England nature writer for years. I'm glad his methods are getting broader exposure. I went jigging last year after reading an article he wrote and landed a 16lb blue on the diamond jig. Now that I've read the book, I'm eager to apply his tactics to striped bass fishing. He goes beyond what to do and really explains how to do it. An excellent read with great photos to supplement the fishing tips. Take a tip from this old salt and follow Captain Migdalski's advice. He'll get you on the right side of the rip and get the fish in the boat.

Some fish prove harder to catch than others. "Fishing Diamond Jigs and Bucktails: How to Fish the World's Most Versatile Saltwater Lures" is a fishing manual about some of the tougher fish to catch in the deceptively difficult sport of fishing. Detailing methods needed to catch the type of fish one desires, Migdalski's fishing wisdom proves invaluable no matter where in America one chooses to fish. "Fishing Diamond Jigs and Bucktails" is an enthusiastic recommendation to anyone who takes their fishing seriously.

I love fishing diamond jigs, mostly for sea bass in Ocean City and for amberjacks in North Carolina. Some good descriptions in here have helped me refine my techniques. Particularly helpful was the the 10 reel cranks up method. This is a helpful general rule.

I highly recommend this book packed with simple to implement ideas for using a few lures effectively. It helps cut through the confusion presented by the overwhelming numbers of lures hanging on the walls of any tackle shop...
