This hat is very similar to an Austrailian outback hat-in fact you can snap up a side or two if wanted for style or comfort. It's wonderful for keeping the sun off my face and back of neck. It is comfortable and decent looking. It comes with a "tie" so it won't blow away-it might blow off my head, but it won't blow away!
The hat arrived very quickly and was packed well. No problems with the company, I would recommend them!

I bought this hat a little over a year ago for the coming trout season. I finally had to put my old hat into retirement after it was practically in pieces. Most fishing hats, rods, gear etc, are steeped in a lot of tradition and superstition, thus we tend to hang onto things such as hats for as long as we possibly can. When I decided to buy this one here on Amazon, I admit I was taken in mostly by the price. I had seen hats very similar to this in places like American Eagle Outfitters and Old Navy for easily twice the price they are asking for it here. I was pleasantly surprised upon receiving it by the high quality and comfort. It is a very handsome hat that is extremely comfortable, and functional as well. And the quality of the fabric and stitch is superior considering the price. The hat has too heavy snaps on the side for folding the side brims up for the times when you want to look cool, and a nice rawhide drawstring to keep you from having to chase it down river in the event of an unexpected gust. I felt as if it had been part of my fishing trips all along from the very first outing with it. One thing that should be cleared up however is its claim of being water repellent. This hat is not water repellent but rather weather resistant. Meaning it won't repel water, but it will not be affected by it either. This has been rained on, dropped in the water, and been thoroughly soaked and it has neither lost any of its shape or quality feel. It may get wet if there is enough water, but it is not the least bit at any loss for it after drying out, (which it does very quickly). If you truly want something water repellent, you will just have to move up to a more expensive, (and in my experience more uncomfortable), hat that truly has a repellent lining. In my opinion unless you love fishing in driving rainstorms or the feel of anything at all wet on your head, I would recommend this fine quality hat. It is very comfortable, handsome and functional, and comes in a wide variety of colors and sizes that are sure to fit just about anyone. I love it and feel that its an excellent deal. Nice hat, I needed a size 2 sizes larger than I thought, so maybe buy larger at the same time and just send back the one that does not fit. Enjoy!!

Hat is exactly what I was looking for! Wide brim; soft; and actually fits my big head (with a little room to spare-hopefully for shrinkage as I know it'll get wet when fishing). Very comfortable and folds or rolls up easily for storage anywhere. I also like the double string hold down. It's uncomfortable for me to use the under-chin strap, but the behind-the-head strap is much more user friendly.

Surprisingly good quality for a Chinese made Hat. I like a little bit stiffer brim like a good Boonie hat has, but the wider brim affords more protection from the sun. I am pleased with this product, being a long time Boonie hat wearer.

A functional boonie hat, but not a traditional fishing hat which has the elastic storage band around the crown of the hat. Since photo roll containers have joined the dinosaurs in extinction, I've decided to use my fishing vest for storage and easier access. This is the only compromise to expect if you searched for a "fishing hat" (and if you still own photo-roll containers).

Was way too large and the side flaps awkwardly button way too low on the main part of the hat.

The hat fits perfect, used their guide to get size. I am a Scout Leader and will wear it to many Scout Camp outs.

Good overall boonie style hat. VERY fast delivery (to NJ) arrived next day. As other have said, hat was folded, but it wasnt too bad. After steaming it with a clothing steamer and leaving it open, it was fine.

Would've been a great hat if it wasn't packaged so folded up. It was so wrinkled and bent I can't get it to look right, even with ironing and tyring everthing else.
