They pop on the surface good. I have also caught largemouth bass with these poppers.

The body of the popper blocks about half of the hook gap. It is still possible to catch fish, but I do miss more stikes than I would on with other flies. I think it's because half the hook gap is unavailable. Better poppers will have the more of the hook hanging below the body.

The low price is appealing. Use them in places where you expect to lose a lot in the weeds, etc.
