Salmon fishing is an art unto itself and something very special for those dedicated anglers in search of high adventure. "Jig Fishing For Steelhead & Salmon" by veteran angler Dave Vedder covers every aspect of how to find and catch steelhead, coho, chinook, pink an chum salmon in the coastal waters and inland rivers of North America. Of special note are the informed and informative chapters on how to make your own jigs and on fishing lead jigs in the ocean for salmon. The profusely illustrated and "user friendly" information in this 96-page instruction manual is an absolute must for anyone wanting to experience for themselves the thrill of successfully matching their skills and equipment against a wiley steelhead or feisty salmon.

Vedder has been able to produce a product with both style and substance; easy to read, but not glib or superficial, detailed but not overwhelmingly so. From a newbie's perspective, a good book to have in the library.

Liked the book alot. I've been jig fishing for steelhead for about 4 yrs and its cool to read about how someone else fishes and observes things differently than you do, it helps you look at things differently when fishing. It opened another door for me. just wished it had more pages to read, because I was really getting into it.

Dave is the dean of river fishers. His book reflects his decades of fishing and his long hours on the water. As an outdoor writer myself, I know how many years Dave must have put into writing this book. If you study this book, you will jig up more salmon & steelies. Guaranteed.
