About the Author

Dave Scadden helped start pontoon boat fishing and has continued to be intimately involved with the sport's development. From his earliest days, Dave has been tying flies and using them to catch fish. A noted fly tying and fly fishing teacher in Utah for 30 years, Dave also spent many years guiding professionally on the Green River. Working his way up the ranks, Dave eventually became the owner of Anglers' Inn of Utah with four stores along the Wasatch front, along with a catalog and internet sales department.

He has also started a new business, Dave Scadden Pontoon Craft Inc. to market his new boat designs. Over the years, he has fished extensively in Western United States and Canada. In addition, he has hauled pontoon craft to Alaska and Siberia on incredible fishing adventures. Dave lives in North Fork, Utah with his wife Cailin and sons David, Dakota, and Bridger. They all enjoy horse riding, snowmobiling, and boating, but mostly fishing.
