Traveling Pescador so happy with this case!!!,
This review is from: Fishpond Dakota Rod Reel Case Carry-On (Misc.)
I am not one to write reviews, but I love this product and occasionally refer to Amazon's reviews for guidance. If you are a traveling angler and need more then the just a basic two rod holder like myself, buy this bag! The website underestimates the capacity of this this carry on case. I carry two 3 piece spinning rods (1 medium heavy and 1 heavy), four 4 piece fly rods (a 6wt, 7wt, 8wt, and a 10wt), two spinning reels, three fly reels appropriately sized for the rods, one extra spool for the 6wt, two 4.5" x 9" x 1.5" fly boxes, and one 4" x 6" x 1.5" fly box. Believe it or not, I could squeeze in one more fly rod (the eventual 12wt) and there is still room for some smaller items in the main body of the bag like headlamps, line cleaner kits, etc. That may sound a little over the top, but try to replace a broken rod in some of the premier fly fishing places on this planet and some of these countries are not the safest places in the world to trust your checked luggage. In addition, the zippered compartments are perfect for leaders, lines, passport, itineraries, and a pen for filling out the necessary paperwork when flying abroad.
I am not easy on my equipment and have traveled with this case several times. I drag it around the airport while waiting in line to check in or go through security as well as spending time in very rough camping situations...There is no signs of wear and basically looks the same as the day I bought it. Now the silly downside...It gets a bit heavy with all of the above, but that is my fault. I wear a backpack when traveling so the shoulder strap is difficult to use. If this product had a handle on one end and wheels on the other, it would simply be amazing! Get out, go fishing, and carry on everything for the Grand Slam!

Looks like a rugged well thought out case to trasnport all you must have Fly Gear. Not sure its a carry on but probably depends on the Airline rules. Be using it for the first time but everything packed great. Just the right size for 9 ft 4 pc rods too! Lots of room for leaders/ tools etc also.
