These are terrificly sharp and create an excellent "pinked" edge. These will cut through heavy fabrics with ease. I am very pleased with these shears and the price is a real bonus.

These were purchased for an apparel design office where we work with fabric swatches on a regular basis. They work just fine.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice pinking shears February 11, 2012
I just recently finished hand sewing some ornaments that needed narrow seams. Pinking shears are the easiest finish for those seams.

As long as you don't ever let anyone use your pinking shears on paper, these will last a long time. The pinked edge is very neat without chewing the fabric. Being left-handed, I've had that issue with other supposedly ambidextrous shears. These really do work in my left hand.

3.0 out of 5 stars Cuts well, but hard on hand. August 24, 2011

These cut the fabric with ease and does it's job well. However, opening it is a little stiff. After cutting a bunch of half yards of fabric, my middle finger, which bore the brunt of the lifting action, is still swollen a day after and there is a tiny sore on it. I'm only 28 and my hands don't have and arthritic problems or anything. These scissors would be good for projects that require some trimming here and there, but not for projects that require a lots of it. I guess I should have bought a rotary style cutter instead.

1.0 out of 5 stars Very stiff December 10, 2011
I agree with other posts about the difficulty in using these pinking shears. They worked for about 1/2 hour and then became so stiff that I needed two hands to close them. I returned them. I don't know if it was a bad batch or inherent design flaw. It's worth investing in a better brand and something that is entirely metal (in my opinion).

2.0 out of 5 stars pinking shears February 20, 2011

The pinking shears have bolts to keep the blades together. The bolts are too thick and prevent the blades from moving easily, even after oiling them.

1.0 out of 5 stars stiff
I had to return these, they were so very stiff, I could barely open them. Maybe this was an exception, but I couldn't go to the trouble of trying a second time.
