5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!!!!
I love this paper trimmer. It works great and it's easy to use. I've had mine for over a year and it hasn't let me down so far. I'm not sure about the other reviewers but this is better than my first fiskar trimmer. The blade is covered so my son won't cut himself, it locks down so your paper isn't moving around. 1.0 out of 5 stars The worst trimmer ever!
I have used the small trimmer by Fiskars and the Cutterbee by EK Success. They are both better than this one. You have to push very hard on the the cutter and even then it does not always cut! It would be impossible to use with any accuracy when working with small cuts.

I get straight cuts every time. It's easy to change the blades out, it has a storage compartment for your blades & it has a magnet for any metal pieces lying around. It has all the measurements for cutting the right size photo's (it takes a little practice with that)But other than that their is nothing wrong with this trimmer! It's light weight to take anywhere and the price here is cheaper than anywhere else I've seen it. I just think this is a great product and works well, and if your looking for a trimmer this is it! I'm actually getting another one for my mom as a Mother's day gift! She uses mine all the time so I thought I would get her, her own!

1.0 out of 5 stars Can't believe this is a Fiskar's product, October 5, 2007
Normally Fiskar's puts out quality products. They must have been asleep when this cutter was designed. Sometimes the arm lifts up, sometimes it doesn't. Sometimes, you have to practically throw your shoulder out in order to get it to lift up.. Rotary wheel is all over the place too.. hard to get a good straight cut. Only good thing about this cutter is the convenient built-in blade holder. Other than that, don't waste your money.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great, precise cutter!, March 19, 2009
This review is from: Fiskars 12-Inch Desktop Rotary Paper Trimmer (Kitchen)
Love this cutter! This is an invaluble cutter we use for our invitation business. Cuts are clean through thick cardstock paper. It's user friendly and can be used for any scrapbooking projects. The clear plastic sheild helps make precise cuts, allows for a good grip while cutting without ruining or getting stationary dirty.

Only drawback is you'll need to replace the blades and cutting bar/stick once it's overused and dull. The blades are easy to find but I wish I could say the same for the cutting bars/sticks. Lots of Fiskars Cutters out there but not all have serial or item numbers so it's hard to find the right accessories and replacement parts.

4.0 out of 5 stars My favorite cutter, July 1, 2010
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Fiskars 12-Inch Desktop Rotary Paper Trimmer (Kitchen)
As titled, this is my favorite cutter for scrapping and card making, and I have quite a collection. I also feel, based on my experience, that Fiskars does has the best rotary cutter out there. Replacement blades are inexpensive, the cutting edge is inexpensive, and both are so easy to replace. I get a good, straight cut every single time.

So if I like it so much, why not give it 5 stars? My only reason is because it isn't a 12" cutter. I don't understand the title -- because you truly cannot measure 12" with the cutter. There are two inches on the right side, with all of the 1/16" markings, so it's easy to take anything 2" or less off your paper using either side of the cutting blade. The surface is 8 1/4" though, and there is no swing arm to measure up to 12". The swing arms are never really accurate to cut with anyhow, IMO.

Other than that, I love, love, love this cutter. I use the (basically) same smaller version with the 4+" cutting surface when card making, but wanted this bigger one for my page layouts. It's pricey, but worth it in the long run.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for cutting photos and laminated items, January 5, 2010
This review is from: Fiskars 12-Inch Desktop Rotary Paper Trimmer (Kitchen)
I bought this (on sale at a craft store) for helping my child's preschool with laminated cards and photos. Honestly, before I knew about this tool I was using scissors to cut them. What a waste of time! And completely comical to see what a poor job scissors do compared to this machine on items that require a super-straight line. The previous reviews for this look old, I think they may have improved the model since those postings. I have been using it now very often for a few months, and have not had to change the blade at all. Even on laminated pages it cuts clean through. You have to push on the clear plastic guard with one hand while you push down on the wheel with the palm of your other hand. If you use just your fingers on the wheel, they will get sore fast if you are using it for a lot of cutting. I really like this product for scrapbooking as well.

1.0 out of 5 stars Marginal at best, January 4, 2012

This review is from: Fiskars 12-Inch Desktop Rotary Paper Trimmer (Kitchen)
This was my first paper cutter. I purchased to complete a craft project for Christmas gifts. I should have researched before I bought. All I needed to do was cut photos one at a time. That's it. A total waste of money!
1. The cutter didn't always cut all the way through.
2. It was difficult to see where the cut was going to be.
3. Either the blade or the cutting pad had to be replaced much quicker than I expected. I was unable to finish my project without a replacement.

It was expensive for the quality. I should have spent the extra money and bought a heavier-duty cutter.

5.0 out of 5 stars I want to scrapbook more after i got this, December 28, 2011

I bought this at a local craft store for about $30 on sale. This is so much better than scissors. It cuts perfectly, every time. I've used only one sheet at a time, and it works. I don't want to try it with more, cos I don't need to. I also purchased a scoring blade and a scallop blade. It is very easy to replace the blades and I don't get cut from it. After I got this i use scissors only for smaller cuts. My cards score perfectly and I've never used my scallop scissors after I got this. The papers are securely held while cutting and its a time saver.

1.0 out of 5 stars JUNK!, March 31, 2006
I had an old rotary trimmer from Fiskars that I bought at OfficeCorporateSelloutMax that worked great for a long time. However I had a fire and had to replace it. The only one large enough I saw on the market was this. The quality of this product is mediocre at best. I wouldn't be surprized if I have to replace it within the next year.
