I just received my little Travel Sewing Kit this afternoon and am thrilled. It's exactly what I have been looking for. The blue case folds and snaps close and is very similar in size, durability, and functionality to a powder compact. It's already found a home in my laptop bag.

-2 Snaps
-2 Buttons (small, white/clear)
-Thread (White, Off-White, Red, Yellow, Dark Blue, Black)

The sewing kit I received looks exactly like the one in the picture, but it is NOT Fiskars brand, which is why I bought it in the first place. I saw it and thought that Fiskars would make a good travel sewing kit. This is a cheap, made in Taiwan sewing kit by some company called Dura Sharp. The scissors (what Fiskars are world-famous for) will not even cut thread! This is a really cheap kit that belongs in a 99¢ store. I would NOT recommend this to anyone!

This product was what I expected. The case is stronger than I expected. It's not cheap plastic. Instead it's very sturdy and would the latch seems like it will last forever.

Cheap plastic? Check. Mediocre tools? Check. Under five bucks? Check.

I would certainly not recommend this as a main sewing kit, but as a travel kit, emergency supply, or even college dorm kit, it's just fine. It has multiple needles, colors of thread, scissors (that, let's face it, couldn't cut butter), a needle-threader, extra buttons and snaps, and a few other supplies. It may be super-cheap, but it gets the job done well enough. Just don't rely on it too heavily, because a masterpiece of engineering and manufacturing it is not.

This little sewing set is great! The scissors actually cut the string. It provides a few different colors of string. Also, everything snaps into place and stays put. This is the best thing about the sewing kit.

This little guy is SO handy! The price makes it very practical to put a kit in each vehicle and in different places in the house, so you are always prepared to fix a small wardrobe malfunction! The quality is also very good for the price.

Good product, nothing too fancy just works well. Good to have if you lose a button or need to sew somthing minor up.

saw this Fiskars 55217097 Travel Sewing Kit shortly after my niece asked me to teach her to sew on a button and she didn't even own a needle or thread...bought 8 of these...one for my self, 2 for friends, 2 for my nieces and 3 for my daughters and daughter-in-law...everyone loves them, compact, close easily, open easy...and still has everything you need for a quick fix...from scissors to tweezers...it's amazing...you will never be embarrassed because of missing button or split seam...this kit has everything and will still fit into the smallest of purses
would recomend to all...absolutly love it

I purchased two of these after spending a lot of time trying to decide which one to get. I bought this one because it has a lot in it, but it's small and compact enough to tuck in a handbag or a tote, or just to put in a suitcase in case a little mending is needed. One I kept for myself, and the other I am giving to my daughter who travels a lot. When visiting her I noticed that she had to borrow a friend's sewing kit in order for me to mend something for her, so my next purchase of this kind is going to be a bigger sewing kit for home. I like this one very much. The case is sturdy and closes good and tight. It's a little smaller than a powder compact when closed. It contains black, yellow, red and white thread, 3 needles, a safety pin, 2 white buttons, 2 snaps, 3 straight pins, tweezers, small scissors, and a needle-threader. It is arranged and looks exactly like it is pictured. I'm very pleased with it.

Item was smaller than i thought, but it was as described and delivered as promised.
