The Fiskars big grip garden knife features a comfortable grip and an oversized tool head to provide added comfort and control. The garden knife is an ideal choice for digging, planting, weeding, and transplanting. It sports a serrated edge on one side to cut through tough roots and a straight blade on the other side ideal for digging. The pre-sharpened edges are designed to cut through the ground easier. The middle of the blade has a trough-like indention for transplanting soil or seeds, and has a notched tip at the end to remove weeds. The metal blade is also coated with a rust-resistant material, and the handle features a large hang hole for easy storage. The tool comes with a limited lifetime warranty.

Product Description

The Big Grip Garden Knife reduces hand fatigue whether you’re slicing through sod, digging out dandelions, opening bags of soil, planting or transplanting. An extra-large handle with a soft-molded grip provides excellent control and comfort, and the cast-aluminum head resists rust and won’t snap off while you’re digging. A sharpened blade with a serrated edge makes it easy to dig into tough soil. Additionally, the handle features a hang hole for convenient storage. Lifetime warranty.

1.0 out of 5 stars It is not that good Not full tang in handle December 15, 2008

I like to garden I usually like Fiskars equipment This one is a BIG DISSAPOINTMENT. While digging weeds the handle bent. Under the rubber handle is a thin piece of steel that looks like a wire it maybe has a 1/8 inch diameter. The handle is very cheaply reinforced. Not a full piece of steel of a heavy cylinder welded to the hilt. Just a cheap piece of steel that is way toooooo thin No heft to it. Save your money if you are buying this for weeding or digging.

3.0 out of 5 stars Broke almost immediately--but great customer service September 17, 2008
The first time I tried to use this tool with any force, it snapped in half. I'll be returning it for a refund and applying the credit to a solid steel tang hori-hori, like I should have gotten in the first place.

I should have updated this review years ago. Someone at the company contacted me almost immediately after I posted this, and offered to send me a new one at no charge. I've been using that one regularly now for four years and it has proven durable and my very favorite yard tool.

So I can't tell you that the one you get won't break, but let the company know if it does!

If the 1st one shipped had been the second one, 5 stars. As it happened, 3 stars.

1.0 out of 5 stars Big Disappointment September 16, 2008

On the second pass into the ground to remove a weed the kinfe broke apart at the spot weld which was three tiny welds made to hold the knife blade to the handle. Very poor construction. Only Fiskars tool I've ever had that failed on initial use.Fiskars Big Grip Garden Knife #7079
