Should last longer,

I was satisfied with this pruner, it did everything it was supposed to, but I used it a lot and the return spring broke. It isn't easy to open this thing by hand after each cut and before the next one, so I am no longer satisfied. I paid the 30 bucks for it before the latest price reduction and as far as I'm concerned, it should last longer at that price.I have no idea where to buy parts for this thing or if it's even possible, but if I can get a new spring in there then I will be happy again and it would get five stars.

I bought my first Fiskars pruner in 1998 and have used them a lot. Wear and lack of a blade from sharpening so much demanded that a replacement take over. In comes the Power Gear and it is watch out trees and shrubs. With over 200 linear feet of azaleas and other flowering bushes (I'd say what they are but I'm too lazy to get my Funk and Wagnall's) the pruner and I attacked the ones that bloomed. What a snap. No semi-cut branches or ragged ends. I would love to have the same thing with an electric cutter but this is as good as it can get as a manual affordable pruner that will last a long time. To get twelve years out of any tool like this is quite astonishing but the design of this pruner should cause it to last as long if not longer. Hope I am around to see and in fact order another one.

These are exceptional anvil pruners because they feel good in your hand. They are not overly heavy, and surprise when you cut with them, the handle rotates so there is less strain on your fingers and hand. I have small hands so getting a pruner that fits well is important. It is the best way to prune without subjecting your hands and fingers to the danger of carpel tunnel and trigger finger. I bought this pne and the ratcheting pruner as well as the by pass to fit all my pruning needs. This brand makes great scissors and is well know for their pruners. They are one of the best, as is Coronas.

This pruner works very well. Very clean cuts through dead branches, even hardwoods. It gets great professional reviews when researched, and I'm thrilled to own it. It's another fantastic Fiskars product.

Threw away my beloved pruner for 20 years by accident, did't remember the brand and this one sounded good. Opened the package so I can see how the grip feel and didn't like it. Afraid that refund was not possible since package opened, so kept it. The whole time I 'test drive' it, I feel like screaming. Its like using a cuticle scissor to cut your toe nails. The thick side of the blade is thick so get in the way of prescise cuts.I finally found the same one I threw away, its Felco. Don't waste your money on any other pruner altough its pricy but none other can come close to it. Strong and easy to use, even a tiny 90 lbs person like myself can handle cutting 1" dry wood with it. I wish Amazon would allowed opening the packaging(carefully) and try it once. |
