Super sharp and cuts fabric like butter. The blades are firmly set, quite tight and the handle is comfortable but not overly mushy (feels more like plastic than a rubber grip. Great scissors for a sewing enthusiast.

When I bought this I wasn't sure if it would be much different than standard Fiskars scissors. Well it IS different.. and I could tell right away that it cuts easier. It feels more solid in my hands, the blades are shiny, and yes it is razor sharp. The couple dollars price difference is worth it. I'll buy some more for the rest of the house..

This is a very sturdy scissors and has some weight to it. Also, it's very sharp and easy to use on flat surfaces due to the bend.

These are very sharp scissors and work pretty well, but they are a bit stiff when opening and closing them. I sprayed a little WD40 on them but they are still stiff. Other than that the handles are comfortable and they cut well.

These scissors are fairly large and heavy duty. The blades are thick, strong & sharp. The metal appears to be of high quality. I tested the cutting ability on 3 or 4 different materials and these scissors cut like....well, you know.
The finger holes are large enough for someone with large hands. But, I did make one observation which I think is rather important. The finger holes are just a little too close together to allow for real power cutting. If the finger holes were perhaps another 1 inch farther apart, you would be able to get a better, stronger grip on the handles which would translate to more cutting power. And yet people with small hands would still be able to grasp the handles just fine. In spite of my gripe, these are excellent scissors for cutting thick material. And there's no reason why couldn't use them for cutting coupons, etc.

I have used Fiskar scissors for years and loved them. I recently bought new ones, both the 8 inch and the small micro-tip. The locks broke in both within a few months. I just emailed Fiskar about this since it was 2 models. I am very upset over this.

It's hard to find a really good pair of scissors but I've always trusted Fiskars for a good, sharp pair. Some lesser brands are not sharp enough or aren't made well enough to withstand abuse, but my Fiskars have always worked well and stood up to abuse. I trust this brand.

Best sewing scissors I have found,
This review is from: Fiskars 8-Inch Razor-Edge Softgrip Bent Scissors (Kitchen)
These cost more and are heavier than basic Fiskars, but they are definitely worth it for fabric cutting. After all, if you cut poorly, it is very difficult to sew a good product. These cut smoothly and with very little effort. I have cut everything from sheer to stretch to heavy fabric with ease. I am using them now to cut some heavy flannel backed vinyl and they are working so well I took a break to write this review. I am very, very happy with them.

These scissors are great for sewing and cutting fabric, they are comfortable and cut fabric very smoothly. These put my old scissors to shame and I will outlaw any other use of them in my household to keep them nice and sharp for sewing purposes!

I've owned Fiskars, Gingher, Mundial, Clover (don't ever go there!) etc. I love my Ginghers, but they are cost prohibitive to own the really nice large shears. The Mundials were are a special two pack and were good scissors, but don't really stay sharp. So when it came time to replace my fabric shears, I went to the classic: Fiskars. These are excellent scissors and the price cannot be beat. The grips on this particular pair are very comfortable! I really like the cushion grip and it is nicer than the standard hard orange grip. What I'm saying is this: you cannot go wrong buying these for fabric crafts. The price just makes the deal SWEET! |
