I bought these scissors for my daughter when she was about 2.5 or 3 and we have used the same pair for our other two children as well. The child does not have to struggle to get the scissors open because they just pop up! Have you ever seen a small child use a regular pair of children's scissors? They have one handle in the left hand one in the right so that they can pull the scissors open. Not so with these. :)
The only thing that I find disappointing about these is that they are so hard to find in stores. :(

I read the first review for this product and I decided to buy this after considering other products. I just love it! My son is 2 years and 9 months old and he is able to cut paper without difficulty. He used it as soon as he got it out of the package. He really likes using it. Crafts time is now much more fun! I ordered two and I'm giving the second one to our goddaughter who is 4 months younger than my son. I really recommend this product.

These are horrible scissors even for the little ones. They frustrate the child when they do not cut. The "blades" are the equivalent of some aluminum foil on plastic. Buy something else! Even the all plastic Melissa and Doug scissors are better scissors than these.

Great for those still building manual skills
My grandson needs to learn to cut. He is still building the strength and dexterity in his hands. These are the perfect gradient. They should still only be used with supervision.

First pair broken in a month

Terrible
Difficult to use with either hand. Paper normally bends instead of cuts. The dullness is for safety but makes ineffective and does not teach great cutting habbits
