5.0 out of 5 stars If I had only one clipper/lopper.....
I can't praise the Fiskars Small Lopper enough! I'm a Master Garden with several acres of country garden to maintain. This 18" lopper is the most versatile garden tool I use. The Power Gear feature provides incredible leverage in cutting far larger branches than comparable loppers. Every gardener should have one.

2.0 out of 5 stars A different lopper
With its geared action and medium size, this is a very handy tool, suitable for a variety of jobs.
On the plus side, its very light (compared with competitor products), comfortable, easy to use and cuts well. Unlike other loppers (such as the 17" version from the same company), the cutting blade can be replaced which is a great bonus.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent Tool, Excellent Company, April 26, 2008
This review is from: Fiskars 9625 18-Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (Lawn & Patio)
Not long after I bought these I made the mistake of trying to prune old wood that was really too great a diameter for a small pruner and I broke the cutting blade. Feeling embarrassed, I wrote to Fiskars and asked them if I could buy the part I'd broken. Instead of replying they sent me a new pruner within days. I want anyone shopping for garden tools to know that this is a great company that stands behind its products even when their customers fail to use them properly. How often does that happen these days? (I now always make the trek to the shed for the larger loppers when I need to cut old, thick branches.)

5.0 out of 5 stars Great yard tool, January 16, 2007
This review is from: Fiskars 9625 18-Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (Lawn & Patio)
I purchased one of these fiskars lopper and was so very impressed with how well it worked. It helped me cut the branches from a Douglas fir tree as it can easily cut 2 inches.

I owned a pair of Fiskars before and they broke.....not knowing they had a lifetime guarantee, I threw them out. I tried using regular loppers and just couldn't do it. It was just too painful. Then I bought another pair of Fiskars loppers and I am doing my own pruning, etc. again. I will NEVER buy any other kind....the gears make any task easy for people with hand and wrist problems. I love not having to rely on other people to do the work I can now do myself.

On the plus side, its very light (compared with competitor products), comfortable, easy to use and cuts well. Unlike other loppers (such as the 17" version from the same company), the cutting blade can be replaced which is a great bonus.
On the down side is the unique jaw shape which probably prevents the slipping of the brunch during cutting, however, this feature requires maximal opening of the handles. The result - access to dense vegetation in narrow places is severely limited.
(The parallel Felco loppers have a narrow jaw, and although higher in price, proved being much more practical for my use).

5.0 out of 5 stars Lightweight and high-performing loppers, February 4, 2011
This review is from: Fiskars 9625 18-Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (Lawn & Patio)
Length:: 2:42 Mins

The powered gears on this lopper make short work of even very thick, woody stems. Though you need to open the pruners wider than with other loppers, the gears help cut through branches with such ease that it is worth adjusting the way you approach a shrub to prune. I particularly love how lightweight they are and easy to carry, since my other loppers are great heavy things that really seem like a project to tote about. These feel like they'd be easy to bring outside in a bucket or garden tote because they are small and lightweight.

I loaned my wife,s loppers to some one. They never can back. They were the Fiskars 18 inch Power Gear Bypass Lopper. So I bought the new one's as a replacement. Had they not have been an ecellent lopper I would have bought another brand. I even bought the Fiskar Power Gear Lopper with the longer handles for myself. They work even better then they claim, stay sharp, and maintain alignment. Worth every penny.

5.0 out of 5 stars You want this, June 4, 2009
This review is from: Fiskars 9625 18-Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (Lawn & Patio)
This is the best lopper I have ever owned. It far surpasses anything of comparable size. If you have to do a lot of pruning on 1-2" limbs then this is what you want in your hands. It will do all the work without you struggling and over exerting yourself. Have something left in your tank at the end of a hard day by choosing the right tool for the job, the Fiskar 18" lopper.

5.0 out of 5 stars SUPER LOPPER, July 21, 2008
This review is from: Fiskars 9625 18-Inch PowerGear Bypass Lopper (Lawn & Patio)
These are wonderful little loppers. They work much better than my old heavy craftsman's(which have since been thrown out). I also ordered the 31" Fiskars thinking they would do larger branches but these little guys do almost the same size limb. If your not in a hurry, save yourself some money and order them through Amazon.
