I purchased this Fiskar's Bypass Pruners as a gift. While they felt good when held...being well balanced and easy to use, they were also extremely sharp and cut well, they were very difficult to unlock even for people without conditions such as arthritis.
I think that with time, the lock may have loosend a bit, but since this was a gift for someone with arthritis, I had to return it and ended up getting the Fiskars pruners with the carabiner clip in the handle. The lock was much easier to manipulate on the carabiner model.
