Also the telescoping handle is weak and i am scared it will break if any real force is used.

In crevices where the asphalt road meets the concrete curb, the weeder chips at and tears up the asphalt edge--and still doesn't cut the weeds.

On large weeds in between even surfaces, I just push the tool along the seam and slice off the top of the weed.

We had four problems with this weeder:
1. The telescoping handle collapses no matter how hard it is tightened. Very poor design that simply does not work.
2. The blade does not cut the weeds! It runs alongside the weed rather than cutting it, no matter how sharply the blade is angled in either direction within the crevice. This was on very even crevices between two edges of concrete where the sidewalk meets the curb.
3. In crevices where the asphalt road meets the concrete curb, the weeder chips at and tears up the asphalt edge--and still doesn't cut the weeds.
4. When used as a skimmer (running the blade ahead of us like a push broom), the weeder edge is too narrow to do the job.
No matter how we tried--changing the angle we held the blade, changing motions (pushing the weeder ahead of us, pulling it toward us, using a sawing motion back and forth), this weeder didn't work well. We ended up with stretches of lacerated weeds and a lot of frustration. We do not recommend this weeder at all.

I bought this tool on sale at a local Tuesday Morning for around $7.

I use it for weeds growing in the concrete seams in my driveway and curbs. I also use it to finish edging the corners of my lawn where my electric edger can't run.

I have also found that the telescoping shaft lock slips. I am over 6' tall so I have to bend over to use it because it won't stay extended. On large weeds in between even surfaces, I just push the tool along the seam and slice off the top of the weed. For smaller weeds I put the tool against the weed at an angle and tap the end of the tool with my palm to decapitate it. This tool does make you feel a little like an executioner. I also drag it along the seams to clean them out.

If the shaft extension lock didn't slip, I would give this tool a 4

I haven''t used it very much ,so far, but like the feel of it. I have a bit more time right now, to work out in the yard.
