My grandkids do their homework at my house after school. I had a less expensive protractor which was giving them problems - it wasn't clear plastic so it was hard to line it up; there were measurement markings on one edge only; and the effort to align, anchor, measure and draw the angle was frustrating. This little gem has solved their problems and they love it! I highly recommend this for students or anyone who has to measure angles. There are cheaper protractors, but you will find the benefits definitely outweigh the extra expense if you choose this one.

The arm is a neat gimmick. What I really like is the size and the kind of plastic it is made of. You must be able to read through it and you can. The plastic though is not that brittle crud that will break if you look at wrong. I really think this will make it through the school year.

I originally ordered this from some other place to use on the PE exam to read psychometric charts. That place was a bit cheaper in shipping. But that place told me after a week they didn't have them in stock. this was a bit annoying since the exam was getting closer and I expect the store to know right away to know if they have items or not. Then I canceled my order there and ordered at Amazon and it arrived quickly. For the future I stick with Amazon if it is just a few ct price difference since they actually know what they can deliver.
Anyway, unlike other protractors that are not see-through, this one is good to use to on a psychometric charts to estimate air flow rates with sensible heat ratios etc. I looked at other models and they looked quite retarded to use, even when they were more expensive. It is not rocket science.
