The kit worked just as described.

I was still able to sharpen the blades a little bit, by removing the plastic shroud and spinning the sprocket and chain by hand - wearing gloves.

The tool did not fit the Reel mower, so the directions were worthless.

The handle doesn't fit the 18-Inch Staysharp Max Push Reel Lawn Mower by Fiskars, which Amazon and Fiskars leads us to believe that it does. I was still able to sharpen the blades a little bit, by removing the plastic shroud and spinning the sprocket and chain by hand - wearing gloves.

BTW, you have to spin the blades *backwards* after applying the abrasive compound (the lube that is supplied) in order to sharpen the blades. You will also have to adjust the blades down when sharpening, and readjust using the paper cutting technique to put the blades back to optimum cutting position.

I would not recommend this product. The tool did not fit the Reel mower, so the directions were worthless. Still not sure of the "sharpening agent" aka cleaning lubricant! Is it petroleum jelly? Thanks for $20 paint brush!

I got a chip in my blades that locked it up, and try as I might I couldn't even it out. I don't have a file so I tried to smooth it with my Dremel. Got it out enough to move the blades, but it kept hitting as it spun. Later I found something that said you should never use power tools on your blade. Great, so what do I use? Turns out this is the answer. The handle took some figuring out, which probably explains why some reviewers claim it didn't fit their mower. You have to actually unscrew a piece to get it on. If you can't get it, find whoever you use to put your Ikea furniture together. They'll be able to figure it out for you. Anyway, once I figured out the puzzle, I spread this on, cranked the handle for a while, and then my mower purred like a kitten. More specifically, the blades whirred through the air without hitting any more. This should come in the box with your Fiskars mower. But plan on getting it sometime in the life of your mower. It is necessary maintenance. I was in my second year of owning this mower when I had to use this.

This worked fine, I used it on my staysharp 18" reel. for those saying it doesn't fit, just read the directions. You have to take the adapter off the handle and remove the chain and sprocket. Then the handle attaches directly to the shaft.

A little disappointed about the plastic handle used for turning the blades, it stripped out but was able to complete the sharpening process. Once completed what a difference, cuts like brand new. In my case the mower was only 2 years old and needed to be sharpened. I plan on doing so twice a season.

A nice product engineered to work with the mower's design. Based on that, I have to give it five stars. Why it is not included as an included component with the mower escapes my common sense.

My mower is 1 year old. It worked ok this spring but not like the first year. I got the kit, sharpened the blade and it was even better than when I got it new.
