The Fiskars ShearEase grass shears are an ideal tool for precision grass trimming. The grass shears feature a cutting head that rotates 360-degrees for easy trimming at any angle. Included with the tool is the patented ShearEase mechanism that prevents the blades from jamming or sticking with grass, as it was designed to clear them out with each cut. The blades are made of fully-hardened stainless steel for added strength and durability, and the body is made from hardened Nyglass--a strong, but lightweight nylon/fiberglass composite that provides long-lasting durability. Additionally, the unit's blades open extra wide for greater cutting capacity, and there's an included thumb operated locking mechanism for safe storage and easy transportation. The ambidextrous design will ensure seamless usability between right and left-handed users, and the shears come with a limited lifetime warranty.

Nice feature that you can twist it on any angle.
Carrie James
There is little or no engagement of the blades and when I attempt to cut grass the cutting blades separate and do little more than bend the grass.
Tim
A great product to trim the grass around areas the lawn mower can't reach.

I seem to be drawn to houses that need lots and lots of yard work. These shears have been used a lot through the last few moves and are still good and sharp. Fiskars is a good name and it's my hope and expectation that these shears will last for a long, long time.

I've used them for branches that are probably a wee bit too big and with a little effort, they'll rise to the occasion and chop off more than they can really chew. They're supposed to have clog-free blades and heretofore, I've found this is true. Despite chomping away at great gobs of gooey wet grass, they've never become clogged.

The swiveling head is a nice feature, but after the clippers get a few miles on them, grit and dirt gets into the mechanism and it's not as easy to turn. From a practical standpoint, I rarely use that feature. Just haven't found a need for it.

When it comes to cutting implements, I'm utterly convinced that spending a little extra money is always money well spent. I own a few other Fiskars tools and am delighted with this brand.

It was working good like Fiskars products usually do, and then the right blade broke where the connecting post fits in. It did this just trimming the edge of my grass where my lawnmower misses.

My conclusion is that this should not have happened except for a manufacting defect in the metal or how it was assembled. A previous review states theirs has been working great for over 3 years. Well, sorry to mess up this products 5 star rating; but the truth is Fiskars needs better quality control for this product.

I'm very happy with these shears. I can't even say how many I've purchased shears in the past just to have them work ok the first few times then become completely useless. Already I've used the Fiskars Shear several times and they're actually fun to use since they DO get the job done. I'd highly recommend them to anyone looking for something reliable.

These could not have been tested by humans before they were sold to the public. You have three choices of where to place your thumb while cutting grass. On top of the handle, where you cannot maintain a good grip, right on the locking button, whereby you are constantly locking them while trying to cut, and thirdly, below the button where a nasty blood blister awaits you when you pinch the crap out of your digits.
On the positive side, (which earns the 2nd star), they have a very light action, and they're lightweight, so you can throw them into your worst neighbor's yard and let them get the crap pinched out of them.
Pass on these, please.

After reading through the reviews for this product I can only assume that something went wrong at the factory when my shears were made. I have a brand new pair of these Fiskars grass shears and they don't cut grass. The blades appear to be very sharp, but also very loose. I can only assume poor quality control at the factory. There is little or no engagement of the blades and when I attempt to cut grass the cutting blades separate and do little more than bend the grass. I always look for the fiskars name when purchasing cutting instruments for the garden, and I am very disappointed in this product.

You best wear gloves with these as they tend to pinch your palm as your cutting. Other than that, they stay sharp for a very long time and cut very well.

Though I have several string trimmers, there are areas best cut by hand - like around the vines climbing the two metal arbors out front. If I accidentally cut those vines, I'll be in big trouble, and so when trimming around those long babied vines I use the Fiskars grass shears.

The shears cut well through grass though thick woody stems can stop them in their tracks. The up and down handle mechanism is comfortable and doesn't cramp my hands like some of the side to side units. I like using these when trimming around the Virginia creepers and any prized flowers that I don't want to harm.

After three years the shears still cut well, and though I only use them a few times a year, they're a great tool to have in the garden shed when the need arises. I've noticed that my pair doesn't close all the way when put in the locked position. That has never been a problem.

Would I but these black and orange (Oriole colors) shears again? Most definitely.

I have used the shears to trim grass, cut back alyssum, hosta flower shoots and leaves. They work great and being able to change the blade angle is an extra bonus.
