5.0 out of 5 stars delightful, lyrical silliness
The text and illustrations are both great, and it holds my 8 month old daughter's attention despite its length. It will be even more fun to read to her as she gets older and can find Rachel's cat on each page, laugh at the silly blister remedies, and eventually read the great rhymes along with me.

I know I'll have this terrific book memorized soon, and won't mind...

3.0 out of 5 stars My take on Rachel Fister's Blister
"Rachel Fister found a blister on her little left-hand toe."

You might think that a story about a blister on someone's toe would be gross. And it kind of is. But this is exactly the kind of grossness children love. The rhymes are short, appealing, and easy to predict, which small children should love. The tale is about a young girl and the story contains...

5.0 out of 5 stars A Wrap Your Tongue Around It Ton Of Imagination Kind Of Book, March 24, 1999

Oh what a true delight it is to read this book! It has to be one of my favorites. It never fails to delight both the reader and the listener. Chaos, calamity, consideration and correction. This book is pure fun! Thank you Amy MacDonald!

5.0 out of 5 stars Fun to read!, December 4, 2007

This review is from: Rachel Fister's Blister Book & Cassette (Carry-Along Book & Cassette Favorites) (Paperback)
This book is so fun to read and my 2.5 year old daughter loves to hear it. I also love that the main characters are female and the hero in the end (the queen- female) is described as very smart. The doctor in the book is also female, although it's a little hard to tell b/c of the old-fashioned illustrations. PS- I have not listened to the cassette part so I can't comment on that.

This is one of my favorite books to read to my kids. We love the sing-song rhymes.

3.0 out of 5 stars My take on Rachel Fister's Blister, July 25, 2010
"Rachel Fister found a blister on her little left-hand toe."

You might think that a story about a blister on someone's toe would be gross. And it kind of is. But this is exactly the kind of grossness children love. The rhymes are short, appealing, and easy to predict, which small children should love. The tale is about a young girl and the story contains characters of various ethnicities including a Jewish rabbi and an African American pastor. While most of the other multicultural characters are in the background, they are at least depicted. This is a fun tale and a quick read.

As an added bonus, I picked this book up second hand at a yard sale or thrift store and the book is signed by both the author and the illustrator (Amy MacDonald and Marjorie A. Priceman)!

3.0 out of 5 stars Anonymous ... from North Bend, May 5, 2000

I would recomend this book for people who like poetry. But for me poetry just isn't my type of writing. This book was a little too long for me. What I mean is that it is sort of a rhyming tounge twister.
