4.0 out of 5 stars Billy Chong = Highly Underrated Actor, October 30, 2002
This review is from: Fistful of Talons [VHS] (VHS Tape)
All of Billy Chongs movies are very good. The movie is about a young man who like a lot of others are happy the Ching dynasty is through. He works in a hotel/restaurant for his father. A man comes in who has betrayed the Chings(who are trying to regain the country). The young man eventually goes in search of the man because of his admiration for him. In the process he meets up with a tough young woman who keeps and trains eagles and who desperately wants to marry him and keeps following him around. The young man after some time meets up with the man he has been searching for and recieves some martial arts training from him.
The young man must eventually stand up and fight the head Ching loyalists with the help of the young woman and the man. I honestly think Billy Chong and all of his movies are highly underrated. I think his movies are some of the best independant kung fu movies around. This movie is very good in my opinion like the rest.

2.0 out of 5 stars more like 2 /34 stars:), August 27, 2000

This review is from: Fistful of Talons [VHS] (VHS Tape)
Billy Chong stars in this movie portraying a young talented martial artist, who wishes to bring down the ching rebellion. with countless confrontations with ching masters and goons, he get's his shot at the head of the operation. A lot of action, and some good fight scenes, but not much more then that. The highlight of the movie is the very talented and acrobatic master in hiding. not a must see, but you can definately do a lot worse.

3.0 out of 5 stars good movie, June 17, 2006
This review is from: Fistful of Talons [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I really enjoyed this film. Obviously costed nothing, was filmed in less than a week, easily, and still manages to have enough energy becasue of billy chong. I have this movie on a 2-movie dvd from video asia that also has the classic "Kugn Fu Zombie" on it.

So Billy is a Qing hater and wants to throw down with anybody who is lookign to revolt and try to overthrow the government. So he does things like brutally cut off their Qing braids, and even lets his mouth go in front of the great hapkido master-Whang in-Sik (baddie in Young Master). His father(bruce's master in chinese connection and jackie's master in young master) does not want to fight with anybody and gets his son out of trouble. But his son just can't help himself. He decides to shwo the governemt up and even messes around with a local oficial. Well things turn bad when a man he was trying to help is on the run because of his loyalty and billy follows. No action for a WHILE. But soem really awesome training sequences on a huge statue(more like imbedded in the rock like rushmore) of buddha, freaking sweet. So in the end Whang in-sik finds everyone and we get a SPECTACULAR conlusion that gets a bit too weird for me, but still highly enjoyable. And if you don't know who the hero and bad guy of this movie are, you will certainly learn. This is easily one of the cheapest movies ever, with the final fight being set in a painted backstage. How it delivered, I have no idea but is a true testament to hwo great those 2 were. WOW!!!!!

Also the movie has a big tribute paid towards animals. Horses are paid much respect , and yes, the eagle's are...
