5.0 out of 5 stars harsh leætherstrip
fit for flogging is an excellant album, assuming you like leætherstrip. and assuming you dont, i sincerely doubt you will like this album, being its not as melodic as some of the others. regardless, i liked it, and thats all that matters.

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad selection of early material
This is not a bad selection of early material; If you like 'Pleasure of Penetration' and 'Solitary Confinement', then you'll probably like this compilation.
It begins with 'Antius' and 'Black Gold', two songs from the 'Object EP'; they sound as if they were songs from 'Solitary Confinement', and maybe better than the average, so you know what they sound like... quick...

3.0 out of 5 stars not bad selection of early material, September 20, 2001
This review is from: Fit for Flogging (Audio CD)
This is not a bad selection of early material; If you like 'Pleasure of Penetration' and 'Solitary Confinement', then you'll probably like this compilation.
It begins with 'Antius' and 'Black Gold', two songs from the 'Object EP'; they sound as if they were songs from 'Solitary Confinement', and maybe better than the average, so you know what they sound like... quick beats, distorted and agressive vocals, apocalyptic lyrics, monotonous verses... there're quite good samples, mostly in 'Antius'

The third song sounds older, similar to some songs of 'Pleasure of Penetration'
'Steal' is a very quick-tempo song included in their 'Material EP', not bad but unoriginal. 'The Nature of God' is a 1-minute instrumental song which is interesting but obviously too short. There're some songs from 'Pleasure...' which are not bad, especially Khomeini, catchy and ironic.
'Nosecandy' is again from 'Object EP', and it's a song I like, one of the first songs i listened to from Leaether Strip.
All in all, it's a decent compilation of early material, even though it does not add anything new or interesting, so I'd advise you to buy the albums instead, because the albums are quite homogeneous, so if you like these songs you'll like the rest of the albums... in fact, some of the best songs of these early albums ('Body Machine Body', 'Leather Strip Part 2', 'Adrenalin Rush'...) are missing here...
