A great tool for healthy eating, June 4, 2005
This review is from: Fit Food: Eating Well for Life (Paperback)
This book is a terrific tool for those of us interested in healthy eating. The recipes are easy to prepare, cooking instructions are simple and most recipes take less than half an hour for prep. That the book contains recipes from famous chefs adapted as low fat, using fresh ingredients that are locally grown is a real bonus. Susan Spicer's jambalaya is a favorite in our household. Finally that the book is more at home on the kitchen counter than a coffee table speaks volumes about its usefulness to the home cook.

Great introduction to healthy food, January 4, 2012
This review is from: Fit Food: Eating Well for Life (Paperback)
I think a large portion of people eating the wrong foods is a lack of understanding of food. This is an excellent book to introduce someone to healthy foods. Each chapter explains why the food is good for you, how to store, select and use the food for best taste. I found many foods that I was storing improperly and therefore losing nutrients! Plus, you get recipes on how to cook the various foods. The recipes themselves are very detailed giving prep and cook times and nutrional information for those watching calories, sodium and cholesterol. This book has helped me to try a few things I never would have thought to cook with before and have a better understand of food in general. I love this book!
