5.0 out of 5 stars I've never seen menus like this!, May 2, 2003
By
Nanette Gerdts (Lakewood, CA USA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Fit Forever (Paperback)
Let me start by saying that before I discovered this book, I hated to "eat nutritiously" because it was a hassle to prepare healthy meals and in addition they always tasted so bland; I would end up craving sweets to compensate. In her book, Jeanne convinced me to try a new way of eating: 6 small meals which are high in protein and include a bit of low sugar carbs and a tiny bit of fat. After just one day of eating this way, my energy soared! My sugar cravings went away, and I didn't feel hungry and want to snack all day like I used to do.
Also, I don't know what to rave about first: the fact that her menus are incredibly easy to prepare or the fact that the food is genuinely delicious! Last night I had pasta with pesto covered with broccoli and turkey sausage stirfried in olive oil. Yum! It took about 15 minutes to prepare.
Finally, she has a section in the menus called, "If you're still hungry..." which tells you what you can add to that particular meal if necessary. (Surprisingly, I haven't needed to do this - the meals satisfy me.) You won't starve on this plan and you'll be amazed at how easy it is and how good it feels to eat this way.

5.0 out of 5 stars Love the former Mrs. Earnst, January 19, 2010
I have always loved exercising to her and her former hubby, Dr. Bernard Earnst. She is a true fitness story if you have followed her. She admits that she was a chubby one which many women can relate to at some point of their lives whether it be as a child or an adult before or after motherhood. There is no fad in this book. Just healthy eating. Too bad Body Buddies is not on DVD. It was fun exercise program in the late 70's or very early 80's.
