5.0 out of 5 stars soaking bowl and colander
I am English. I eat a lot of fruit and vegetables, for years I had to "jerry rig" something to try to produce the same effect. This
purchase is a Gods send Without doubt one of the most useful implements
in my kitchen.

1.0 out of 5 stars Flimsy
I have to say I'm very disappointed with this bowl/colander. I was expecting something a bit more durable. It feels like a cheaply made promotional item and is definitely not worth $10.00. It's something I'd expect to find at a $1 store. There aren't even any guidelines if you can put it in the dishwasher! I'll probably return it because I think it's WAY overpriced and is...

Just the right size for washing veggies, especially lettuce and spinach. Easy to use, handy, and easily stored.

5.0 out of 5 stars Best colander ever, October 9, 2010
This review is from: Fit Fruit and Vegetable Soaking Bowl and Colander (Kitchen)
This colander fits the bill. It is perfect because it allows you to soak items, then raise the slotted colander out with the handle to drain. You don't have to worry about trying keep items from falling out like they do with a solid bowl. The bonus is that you can let is sit in the sink to drain for as long as you need. When I use "Fit" vegetable and fruit wash, I spray the items, allow them to sit in the colander(both parts) for about 2 min, then fill the colander with water and let sit for 2-3 more minutes. Then I raise the handled bowl out and pour the water out of the solid part. I then put it back together, fill with water and let it sit a minute or two then move the items about with my hand and remove the handled bowl. I then spray the items, shake the bowl a little and let it sit to drain/dry.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great product, November 17, 2011

I used to have a similar colander with matching bowl that needed to be replaced becaused used many years. I searched all retail stores and they have only different kinds of collanders but not a colander with matching bowl. I was able to find it only at Amazon! A little bit pricey, otherwise it is a great product.

4.0 out of 5 stars It works & seems safe to use, February 14, 2011
This review is from: Fit Fruit and Vegetable Soaking Bowl and Colander (Kitchen)
I try to stay away from BPA plastics when it comes to foods because of evidence that it soaks into the liquids and foods. The bottom of the green colander doesn't have a number but the white bowl has a #5 recycling number at the bottom. So I think the green colander is the same. So it seems that this set is BPA-free which is nice. What's the point of washing out the toxic pesticides from your fruit if you're washing them in toxic bpa plastic anyway?
