Great overview on proper eating,
By
This review is from: Fit for Life (Mass Market Paperback)
This is a very good book to get an understanding on how the digestive system works in simple layman's language. The book tells how it is best to eat within an eight hour span while the body focuses on the digesting process. Then the next eight hours the system focuses on assimilating. The last eight hours of the day the body focuses on eliminating. People usually eat breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks at night using up sixteen hours and never fully getting to the eliminating cycle. Stored toxins are unhealthy for you. The book also talks about proper food combining. Proteins need acid enzymes; carbohydrates need alkaline enzymes. If you eat the two together they cancel each other out and you end up with no food valve from what you ate. Vegetables go with anything. This book makes common sense. It's a life style way of eating, not a diet.

Fit For Life a Must Read,
This review is from: Fit For Life (Paperback)
Harvey's new book was very helpful. I deal with a lot of health challenges like adrenal fatigue. It is amazing how the body has the power to heal itself if given the proper tools! This concept was new to me until I read Harvey's Fit For Life A New Beginning, 2011. He just covers so much ground while giving great advice which is understandable. I feel like my health condition has improved drastically from following what is written in this book. I also appreciated how this book is helpful to individuals with food sensitivities. I'm gluten intolerant and was worried I wouldn't be able to follow his recommendations. It was no problem. Thank you Mr. Diamond for this fine piece, and to all who are curious, I recommend you pick up a copy.

Harvey and Marilyn explain food combining in a way we can all understand and why eating any other way has consequences...it will haunt you for the rest of your life. I always try to keep an extra copy on hand to give to others.
