4.0 out of 5 stars Just what I was looking for!
I have been exercising for about ten years. When I became pregnant at 35, I was concerned about my shape which fortunately had been tall and trim. Wanting to keep it that way (and also knowing labor may be easier by exercising) I was looking for a pregnancy tape. My usual workouts consisted of a variety of things: walking, low-impact aerobics, step aerobics and floor...

2.0 out of 5 stars Hard to follow with the music
I found this workout to be difficult to follow at times because the people in the video are not going to the same beat as the music. If you don't keep your eyes on them constantly, and let yourself listen to the beat of the music, you will not be synchronized with them the next time you look up at the screen. This gets annoying. The conditioning portion is very good,...

I have been exercising for about ten years. When I became pregnant at 35, I was concerned about my shape which fortunately had been tall and trim. Wanting to keep it that way (and also knowing labor may be easier by exercising) I was looking for a pregnancy tape. My usual workouts consisted of a variety of things: walking, low-impact aerobics, step aerobics and floor work (strength training and toning) all from video tapes I did at home. I wanted a REAL workout for my pregnancy. I scanned the Amazon.com videos and read reviews. I have Kathy Ireland, Kathy Smith and Denise Austin tapes so, I was considering one of those pregnancy tapes. It turned out that I opted for a no-name because of the description and review. Now it's my turn to review. Lisa's tape gives a 5 minute warm-up, a 20 minute step aerobic portion, a 3 minute cool-down and then conditioning which involves using an exercise tube for the arms. (She says you can use soups cans or weights if you don't have the tube.) Then you stand and do leg lifts for the inner and outer thighs. Floor work involves getting on all fours and pulling your tummy in for ab work, tightening your Kegal and buttocks and then comes a stretch segment. I am very happy with this tape. Believe it or not, the 20 minutes is enough for me and the heart rate gets up there. I feel it is a good workout that I am satisfied with it when I'm through. I tried a Denise Austin pregnancy video I picked up at a thrift store for $1.00 and that is all it's worth. It was a joke. NO EXERTION what so ever is necessary. I would only use it if I was extremely over weight and never exercised before. My heart rate didn't budge and it was about 10 minutes worth of activity. If you are a person commited to exercise buy this tape. I'm sure I will use it after my pregnancy as well. I would just do different abdominal work. I didn't give it 5 stars because the girls aren't all in rythym with the music at the same time. It's annoying, but not a reason to avoid the tape. Good Luck!

5.0 out of 5 stars Want a great workout? This is it!, December 19, 1999

The Fit For 2 video is great if you want to stay in shape all the way through your pregnancy. I did it until the day before I had my baby! It works several different body parts, including your abs, and teaches you wonderful relaxation techniques to use when you're in labor. The music is very high energy and kept me motivated. Lisa Stone's cueing and choreography are very easy to follow - challenging and fun! I highly recommend this workout!

5.0 out of 5 stars It's Keeping Me Fit!, May 13, 2000

I was so worried about what kind of workout I was going to be able to do when I found out I was pregnant. I've been a "gym rat" for years and didn't want to lose my fitness level during my pregnancy. The Fit For 2 video gives me a great workout without making me worry that I'm overdoing it or hurting my baby. I work up a great sweat but don't feel totally exhausted when I'm done. I feel like my muscles are staying strong and that I'll be able to make it through labor, no problem!

5.0 out of 5 stars Great step workout, December 15, 1999

This is a wonderful pregnancy video for intermediate to advanced exercisers. Interesting but not too complex choreography. Good information. This video is a refreshing exception -- most retail pregnancy videos are designed for beginning to intermediate exercisers.

5.0 out of 5 stars GREAT Pregancy/Post-Pregnancy Workout, January 21, 2000
By
This review is from: Fit For 2 Step Aerobic Workout For Pregnancy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
This video is an excellent aerobic exercise for the expectant Mom. Lisa is a great instructor and it is very easy to follow. The intensity is just right for pregnant women and you can increase the intensity after your baby is born. I use this video tape when I cannot make it to the gym and my baby is 5 months now! I even have the Denise Austin and Kathy Smith tape and this exercise tape out does both of them!

5.0 out of 5 stars Highly Recommended!, January 5, 2000

Hello all, if you are a pregnant lady like me, looking for a fun way to keep fit then I would definitely recommend this video..... I have enjoyed it very much and of course I was relieved not to have to worry about it being safe for me & the baby.

The other thing is that is concentrates on muscles that are very important during pregnancy and delivery which has helped me understand the types of things I need to concentrate on with any other exercise that I might do.

All in all - enjoy!

5.0 out of 5 stars My favorite pregnancy workout video!, March 28, 2000
This review is from: Fit For 2 Step Aerobic Workout For Pregnancy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I have several pregnancy videos, some borrowed and some purchased, and this one is definitely my favorite! The music is great, not elevator music like my other tapes, and the workout makes me feel like I've done something good for me and my baby. If you want a great exercise video, this is the one to buy!

4.0 out of 5 stars Good Stuff!, March 27, 2000

This review is from: Fit For 2 Step Aerobic Workout For Pregnancy [VHS] (VHS Tape)
I started using this video when I was 6 months pregnant and in terrible shape. I had no experience with either aerobics or step aerobics, and it took me a LONG time to catch on but that has been part of the fun. The challenge of getting the feet right (weeks) and then the arms kept my mind off the exertion.

Lisa is very cheery, and she's a lovely way to start my day.

I don't have a step, and that has probably made it harder to get the feet right, but if you're not in good shape to start out with, believe me you don't need a step. :)

Very good video and Lisa just seems like an adorable person.

4.0 out of 5 stars Good workout, March 1, 2000

While the instructor certainly isn't perfect and the music leaves something to be desired, this is a fairly vigorous workout for an intermediate stepper. It certainly makes me feel as though I've had a workout. The step combinations are not difficult if you are fairly new to step. I also like the leg conditioning exercises. I would recommend it.

5.0 out of 5 stars It really is a workout!, November 30, 2001

I was a runner before I was pregnant and for the first few months of my pregnancy. I ran 4 miles 3 to 4 times a week. I had to stop because, as my pregnancy progressed, my joints loosened, and I began to trip as I ran. Therefore, I needed to find an alternative form of exercise. I was concerned that a pregnancy aerobics tape would not exert me enough, but I read a review here that said this tape would provide a good workout, and I agree. I was able to exercise safely, and still sweat! I also appreciated the abdominal and Kegal exercises, as those parts tend to get a little worn after delivery! I used this tape from 5 months until delivery, and I feel glad that this tape allowed me to continue my exercise routine, even in bad weather. It's a little dated with the music, but it's worth it for the workout.
