The Beat The Beat The Beat,
By Travis "www.xanga.com/tchsatori" (Chicago, Il) - See all my reviews
This review is from: It Fit When I Was a Kid (Audio CD)
The Liars want to pummel your skull, but what makes these guys so great, is while they are doing it; they hide this fact by welcoming you into their world of avant indie noise pop; making you feel special to join with. Most people (*that like liars) either like their early dance punk noise stuff, or their later Witch Avant stuff. Personally I enjoy the entire gambit of work, and must say It Fit When I Was a Kid is the perfect start-up album for their "Drum's Not Dead" release. The songs can lull, even at a measely four tracks; but this isn't a fault of the band, but a fault of our uneducated, impatient ears.

Liars: It FIt WHen I Was A Kid EP (Mute),
By Young Music Reviewer "Chris" (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This review is from: It Fit When I Was a Kid (Audio CD)
There's not much to say that Liars are surely biding their time when it come to music. When I first listened to this, I tohught that this concept album wasn't even going anywhere out of THEY WERE WRONG. Turned out even if the album is focused more on rhythm, I was right. The music you are about to liten to has more THEY WERE WRONG sound, and "COunt Draculuck!" has ANgus Anrew's voice singing "Are You Alright?" in the distance making for an imagined land of distorted reality. Basically, these songs sound like B-Sides that should have already made it's way onto the album by now. This album is worth buying. If not for the songs, for the terrifically directed videos for them. It Fit When I Was a Kid may not be the easiest single to swallow, but don't let that stop you from being your experience and trailer lead into a dark and experimental EP.
