Same 'cush' as the sandals,
By Rivka (Washington State) - See all my reviews
This review is from: FitFlop Women's Gogh II Clog (Apparel)
I absolutely love Fitflops and have several pair of the sandals which I have worn exclusively during warmer months for the past 2 years. When weather changed from warm to cool this fall, I was not wanting to put the sandals away and wear closed shoes although it was time. I looked online and saw these felt clogs and ordered them right away. They are exactly what I wanted and needed...the same great feel and comfort of the Fitflop sandals but in a closed shoe. I ordered the same size as the sandals and the fit is fantastic even when worn with socks. The first day I got them I wore them all day long with no problem. They are just as comfortable as the sandals. I recommend Fitflops to anyone who wants the most comfortable shoes on the planet.

Beware if you have large feet,

I was thrilled when the Gogh II came in size 11, since I had tried the original Gogh in a 10, and sadly, they wound up at the Goodwill. When I got these new ones, they fit, but they come up so high on your foot that they just don't want to stay on. I'm sure this is because I have such large, wide feet. I also bought a pair of the slippers, which are now also offered in an 11. They are JUST GREAT!!! They don't come up nearly as high on your feet, and fit me wonderfully. I'm returning the Gogh's and getting another pair of the slippers, which look almost like the Gogh's, except for a small fringe. The slippers from last year were really comfortable, but again, I could only get them in a 10, and they never stayed on. (Someone got really lucky at the Goodwill!!)
I L.O.V.E fitflops!!!! I have severe arthritis in one of my ankles, and at one point, could not walk without a severe and painful limp. I discovered MBT's and have been pain free ever since. And I mean ever since the first step I took!!! A miracle in my book. But MBT's have no flipflops, and no slippers. When I discovered FitFlops, they gave me the same benefits as the MBT's. I never thought to be able to go barefoot again, and the FitFlops are close. I wear the mens Dass FlipFlops, because they are wider. My MBT's sit unloved in my closet, because the FitFlops are so awesome. I only use the MBT's when I need more protection, like hiking. Other reviewers have mentioned that FitFlops have a medical benefit, not just toning, and I second that in a big way.

Flimsy fabric prone to pill,

I love my fit flop sandals, and I was very excited to find a fit flop for winter, but I was very disappointed in this style because of the fabric on the shoe. The first day I wore them, the felt began to pill. Before long, all of the little nubs on the fabric were picking up anything they touched. If I walked outside in the fall, leaves and pine straw would stick to my shoes. Within a couple of weeks they looked too bad to wear in public and I relegated them to house shoes. Even wearing them only inside the house, the fabric started to wear out and pull away from the seems where they were stitched. Although I love fit flops, I would highly recommend against this particular style. Next year I will probably try to suede ones instead.

my new favorite shoes,

My mother has long sung the praises of the fitflop sandals to me, but I wasn't sure if I wanted to spend this much money on a pair of shoes with limited use/niche appeal. I started stealing her fitflops at the end of the summer, and they quickly became my favorite shoes...not quite work appropriate, though. I work as a teacher, and I'm on my feet all day. These clogs prevent the back pain I used to experience at the end of the day. I actually feel better now than I did a year ago! I've owned Birkenstocks for as long as I can remember, and have tried MBTs as well. NOTHING compares to the comfort of fitflops,--especially the Gogh clogs. I can stand for 8 hours with no foot or back pain. I've recommended these shoes to one of my co-workers who recently had her hip replaced and was looking for better support. I wish the fitflop marketing team would highlight the health benefits of these shoes aside from just "toning up." I love these shoes so much...I wish they came in more styles and colors so I could wear them all the time, I really do. (I'd say they fit true-to-size. I consider myself a 9, -9 1/2, and the 9s fit me perfectly.)

I am finally over my planter faciitis but want to take no chances it will be back. I love my Fit Flop thong sandals and wore them all summer (which I credit for helping get rid of the planter faciitis). Since socks and thongs sandals were not cutting it, I looked for slippers to wear around the house (I have wood floors) that would do the same as the Fit Flops. I must say that the look of these does not thrill me, but I finally sprung for the $69 and got a pair for myself and my mother who had the same issues.
They feel cushy like the Fit Flops and fit exactly to size (I am a size 8), but my feet sweat in them and the insoles are plastic like the Fit Flops, and I feel the need to wear socks to absorb the sweat (not exactly what you want as a slipper.) The outside fabric is pilling a bit too so I don't know how it will wear (I got mine 3 weeks ago) Don't know how they would weather as street shoes. Until someone else comes up with a good alternative, the $69 is worth it even for slippers, given how much pain I felt in my feet last year at this time without them.

I had read plenty of other reviews and based a decision on them. I might have misunderstood but I thought it was like a flip-flop but in a clog form...At any rate the shoe is wonderful and is very comfortable. I wear a size 9 so naturally I ordered a 9. I would say it fits rather true to size even with a sock. (unless you have a wide foot) VERY SATISFIED WITH PURCHASE.

Like many other reviewers I own a pair of sandals and decided to try these because I had exhausted every way I could wear the sandals year long. These shoes have single handly resolved my issues with plantar fasciitis. I have purchased custom orthodics, foot slings, massagers etc to relieve my foot pain to no avail. Please give these shoes a try they are well worth it! It is absolutely try that once you put these shoes on you will not want to take them off.

Smelly,
By
This review is from: FitFlop Women's Gogh II Clog (Apparel)
These clogs fit great and I would have loved them if not for the awful smell! Even the unopened Amazon delivery box had an odor. Once I had opened the boxes, the stench was awful:strong plastic-solvent-chemical smell. I tried airing out the shoes and the shoe box, etc for a few days but the smell was too strong - it came from the rubbery soles of the clogs, apparently. They must mot have properly cured the plastic or maybe they used the wrong glues. So, I had to return them. So Sad.
