5.0 out of 5 stars Great book! Takes the guesswork out of golf fitness training
I found this book helpful and informative. It covers every aspect of fitness training for golfers, even going into detail on what to bring to the golf course and healthy choices of food to eat while there. I especially enjoyed the chapter on self-assessment exercise, as I am in need of attaining the knowledge of what to do for my specific lack of flexibility and how to...

1.0 out of 5 stars Please, let's get serious about golf fitness!
I'm an instructor, and like to recommend fitness books to my students, yet this one falls short in many respects compared to general fitness books and the other golf fitness books. I think "Fitness for Dummies" is a better golf and fitness book than this.

This book is a winner!

1.0 out of 5 stars Generic Basic Fitness, August 17, 2001
By
Eric J. (Detroit, Motor Golfin') - See all my reviews
Compared to other books like Complete Golf Conditioning, etc, this is really generic fitness with the word golf added. I was really disappointed in the nutritional section as I am diabetic and there were only high-sugar options which I had to make. Out of all the golf fitness books I bought in the last 2 months, this was the worst by far.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great complement to Nutritional Leverage for Great Golf, December 13, 2000
Don Tinder's book gives the best golf fitness tips in the sport. Add this to the book, Nutritional Leverage for Great Golf which tells us how to improve our game through diet, and you have two books that can give you the edge you need to lower your score. Tinder is a master at swing technique and practices what he preaches.

5.0 out of 5 stars Like GOLF MAGAZINE says, "This book is a SMOOTH READ!", August 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Fitness for Golfers Handbook:Taking Your Golf Game to the Next Level (Paperback)
I read Don's article in Golf Magazine and they referred to this book as one of the best out there. I was happy to know that I could improve my fitness by assessing my level of fitness by doing the "self-assessment" exercises in Chapter 3 and then performing the recommended improvement exercises throughout the book. I also enjoyed the "power-snack" recipes that I take with me to the golf course often. What a great idea! This book was very clearly written and keeps me motivated to do the suggested stretching and strengthening routines.

1.0 out of 5 stars Really poor layout dilutes average information, November 29, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Fitness for Golfers Handbook:Taking Your Golf Game to the Next Level (Paperback)
Looks like it was written and designed in a weekend, not well thought out in either respect. Obviously not much background in working with really serious golfers by the author

5.0 out of 5 stars Tiger must be reading this book, too!, April 11, 2001
After looking at the way Tiger has taken HIS game to the NEXT LEVEL, I know one factor is his level of fitness that is undoubtedly surpassing the rest of the field. This book has given me a new body and a new attitude toward the game of golf as well. I am playing with much more energy and control, both physically and mentally than ever before! If Tiger can be the example for being in great shape, why can't WE ALL learn from HIM??? I know I HAVE!

5.0 out of 5 stars If you want to feel great again, read this book, June 6, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: The Fitness for Golfers Handbook:Taking Your Golf Game to the Next Level (Paperback)
As someone who wanted to drop a few pounds and feel better about himself, I read this book with the expectation of looking better, feeling better, and playing a "stronger" game of golf. In regard to looking and feeling better, this book has helped me with my energy and allowed me to avoid feeling as tired as I play throughout my rounds. If I had read this book a few years ago, I would playing well above my expecations.
