4.0 out of 5 stars A very flexible table that lives up to ads...
I had my tablemates for 3 months now and it's still in one piece. The table is very flexible and you can adjust it to 3 different heights and 3 tilt positions. The table top is durable plastic and the legs are aluminum. The table is easy to assemble out of the box and requires no tools.

3.0 out of 5 stars Problems With Tablemate II
I was so anxious to get this. I was adjusting the height upward by pressing the two metal buttons protruding from the holes in the legs, and the metal buttons disappeared and fell out of the leg. The little buttons are on the end of a spring-type clamp. It broke on my third or fourth time to press them. I put a screw in the holes. It works, but you can't adjust the...

----The Negatives: The height is not easily adjusted. The legs use locking pins that must be adjusted independently. The home site has a 2 for 1 but charges Shipping and handling equal to the table price. The time for delivery can be as long as 60 days. I strongly recommend ordering them from a well know store like Amazon. This is perfect as a bed tray like ones in hospitals.

4.0 out of 5 stars Keeps my lap from cooking when using my laptop...., October 15, 2005

I purchased this because I was tired of my laptop feeling like it was cooking my lap whenever I used it from the couch. I agree that the height is difficult to adjust, but I don't mess with the various heights, so it's not an issue for me. For my purposes as a laptop table, it works great.

The little buttons are on the end of a spring-type clamp. It broke on my third or fourth time to press them. I put a screw in the holes. It works, but you can't adjust the height anymore. That was very disappointing, but I really do like the idea of the tablemate. I feel it should be a little stronger and should be able to adjust to a higher position for tall folks like me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Works for a laptop table, March 28, 2006
This review is from: Table Mate Ii (Misc.)
I bought this table to use with my laptop while sitting on the couch or chair in my living room. It works nice for this purpose. I agree that the materials used to make the table are not quite worth $30 (I got mine on ebay for $23 and that was with shipping). The legs are not as sturdy as I'd like (they kind of wobble back and forth) but they do the job. I do like how legs go under the furniture and I can get comfortable on the couch. Overall, it works for what I'm using it for and I'd probably buy it again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Table Mate II is great! I've owned for over 2 years!, May 18, 2006
This review is from: Table Mate Ii (Misc.)
I am in no way connected with the makers or sellers of Table Mate. As for them being listed several times, by several companies selling them, if you'd searched on Amazon much you'd find that is common. As for the few negative reviews the only thing I can figure is they're talking about Table Mate I (which I've never tried) or some other brand completely. I've had the Table Mate II for at least 2 years and use it daily for my laptop and occassionally for eating on. It certainly can be set perfectly flat. I wouldn't recommend leaning heavily on it but I rest my hands/arms on my laptop while I type all the time (like now) without a problem. It has held up superbly to my abuse. I'm extremely happy I purchased this and am planning on buying a couple more as gifts (one for my fiance who likes and really wants one like mine).

5.0 out of 5 stars In: Table Mate II ... Out: TV Tray!, January 12, 2006

Been eyeballing this for a few months with much skepticism, and then I received one for Christmas. I work on the computer for much of the day (programmer by trade), and I work part of the time in the living room in front of the TV on a couch. A TV tray provides a good stable surface, and an eventual pain in the back, as there is no comfortable position in which to sit on a couch and work on a laptop.

And then there's the Table Mate II. I adjusted the height to my liking, sat down on the couch (leaning back comfortably), and _easily_ slid the table mate into myself. I have no back pain any longer while I work, and I still have a stable surface on which to work. I eat dinner on it and it cleans easily, and have no plans to go back to a traditional tv tray anytime soon.

I first mentioned the idea of the table mate to my roommate about 3 or 4 months ago and asked if he'd be interested in using one (tv ad listed it as a "buy 2, get 1 free" deal), and he said "why? I have a tv tray!" I'm happy to report that after a few days of use by me, he finally ate crow and asked where he could get it ... his Table Mate II will be arriving in the next couple days!

I have not placed a 50 pound bottle of water on top of the tray (as advertised), but then I really don't want to ... I will say that I have momentarily placed a stack of old text books on it, 10 or so weighing approximately 20-25 pounds, and it held up with no problems!

Sure, I got this for free, but it's great enough for me to want to buy a second one for a guest!

I really do NOT believe it will hold the 50 pounds it claims, but does make a great little tv tray per say. And it does fold flat! We use in our RV! It is a pain to assemble and whatever you do, DO NOT BUY from Get Organized-Order from TableMate. Price comes out the same on 3 tables and you get a free gift from TM. We ordered from Get Organized for immediate ship which did NO Good, first ship NEVER arrived(THEY PROVIDE NO/USELESS TRACKING INFO & are nasty when you ask about it) and 2nd ship finally came a month after original order placed! Definately not worth losing the free gift over if you are or are NOT in a hurry to get! 4-6 weeks from TableMate with a gift, 4-6 weeks from GO, NO GIFT, promise to be there in 1-2 weeks, unfullfilled!

4.0 out of 5 stars I love it!, September 19, 2005
This review is from: Table Mate Ii (Misc.)
This is one of the best purchases I have ever made. Very convenient. I purchased it so I could use my laptop in my livingroom. My computer gets very warm on the bottom and my legs can only take so much. The TableMate adjusts to the perfect height and is so light and easy to use I can take it anywher in my house. There are only a couple of drawbacks if you are planning on getting the TableMate:
1)It isn't very easy to adjust the height. You have to carefully push two spring loaded pins in, slide the legs and re-align the pins to the holes. It isn't hard to do, by any means. It just isn't as easy as I hoped.
2) The spill-proof rim that goes around the table surface is really hard on the wrist when using my computer. I had to put an insert in to cure this.

Other than that, this is a great product. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an item like this.

5.0 out of 5 stars Table Mate II, October 28, 2005

I ordered Table Mate II for my family room. My husband and I eat fairly late because of his work schedule so we always eat in our family room in front of TV. I ordered this table on Tues. and it arrived two days later. I love it. It is very light weight but sturdy and well made. Adjusting the height is easy, just push in both pins and give the leg a twist so they can't pop out, take it to the notch that is right for you and straighten the leg...the pins pop out and you have it. The top is adjustable for flat to a couple slants. I really like it and I am ordering another one today for my hubby.

This item is ordered through GetOrganized. You have to pay to speak with customer service and they are a nasty little organization to deal with in my experience. I'd look for this item elsewhere.
