(...)I love this CD! The percussion driven music is so good you want to listen just for that. Combined with Eric Wilson's warm, rich voice giving brief and timely instructions to guide your fitness workout, this is a great way to move to the music. You choose the method (aerobic floor exercise, walking, running, etc.) and this CD provides a background of mesmerizing rhythms, African beats, jazz, and much more. This is the CD to buy!

This has excellent rhythm and coaching here and there. The que's are helpful when warm ups are ending and levels are going up...as well as challenges. Few parts are on the "cheesy" side but over all and excellent workout. Pace is great for pushing to work harder (I used this along with an elliptical trainer). Very well done, I wish he had other CD's.

In early 2004, another drummer friend and I were at Fremont Drum & Dance waiting for Eric Wilson's class to end. We asked Eric where he got the hot music that he was playing for the class. It turns out we were listening to an early version of this CD. These are infectious, driving grooves - guaranteed to get you moving whether you are a fitness buff or a couch potato.

Not only did the highly motivating music get me off the couch, but the instruction kept me interested and going througout my entire workout. The music is very uplifting and I particularly liked the challenges, making it possible for a more strenous workout when wanted. Not only do I use this CD at the gym, but I started listening to it at home and it has made cleaning the house a lot more fun!

Please save your money. This is a dreadful excuse for an exercise tape with an occasional comment by the narrator encouraging you to keep at it. Behind his numbing and mindless comments beats a repetitive loop of dreadful non-music. This is one to avoid at all costs - it slowed me down during my workout and is a sheer waste of money.

I have played this CD now plenty of times - sometimes for workouts but more often to keep me motivated enough to finish my Saturday am house cleaning session! Either way I love the rhythms and divine drumbeats - it is fun and groovy and keeps me going when I would rather stop! For anybody looking for something a little different, you can't go wrong here. Are you dong another one Mr Eric Wilson??

If you need some music to get your ass off the couch, this one will do it for you. It starts with a mellow beat, but the narrator quickly gets you into the groove with some serious rhythm. Great for taking to the gym or on a run. I even listen to it in the car.

Original, interesting and inspiring,

This workout cd is very original in its use of acoustic sounds to motivate the listener. The layers upon layers of hand drums take me back to memories of drum circles I've danced with in my past. It is much more complex though in it's use of beautiful instruments that not only motivate but inspire the listener to move their body. The artist/trainer takes the listener on a journey and serves to educate the listener about their body during their workout. Quite interesting and worth checking out.

I have become a WALKING MACHINE!!!!!,

In training for walking a 3-Day (60 mile) event, I needed to "up my pace". This has brought my walking time to 12-13 minute miles! It's amazing! It is for a 1 hour workout. I play & replay the 4 different cardio intensities based on my length of walk ( 9 - 11 miles usually ) Wish it were longer!
I would have given this 5 stars but at level 2 there are some female vocalizations that irritate me - in spots the notes are seriously FLAT! (as a singer it drives me crazy! haha!) There's another section where a "Sweat now" chant repeats too many times & also detracts from the moment. Overall, however, it's value to me is MORE THAN worth these two annoyances. The beat makes me walk like a MACHINE - following the reminder to breathe, relax muscle groups, focus on future goals, enjoy... I feel like I've got a TRAINER in my head! |
