I found this book very helpful to me. I'm a novice runner returning to a regular exercise routine after some years off. I'm on the other side of 50 so I needed a workout regimen that would allow me to slowly build up to a more streneous program...if I choose. This book doesn't make you feel like a turtle if your running 12 minute plus miles.
It offers very sane and practical advice and provides a variety of routines if you are a casual runner, 5k, 10k, half marathon or marathon runner. The goal of the book is not to try to have you run races, but, it does provide a road map if you decide you want to do it. I found it very easy to follow and it allowed me to run to my potential without feeling guilty about not slapping a number on my back and trying to set personal best times. |
