This is lovely collection of pieces taken from the Fitzwilliam Virginal Book (roughly 1560-1620), that includes pieces by Byrd, Gibbons and Farnaby. Mr. Koopman performs delightful, historically accurate improvisations. Although the album includes mainly the longer pieces found in the FVB, it is a wonderful, historically accurate performance.
