Biography

Scott Wilberson Fiverson was born in Pangbourne in 1955. Growing up in the harsh lands of West Berkshire he decided to move to London to forfill his dreams of becoming an unnumerical 90's boy band, something very discouraged in his home land.

If he was to fulfil his dream he would have to find 4 and exactly 4..not 2..not 6 but 4 other members to complete his collection of pop genius. All would have… Read more in Amazon's Five Store

Editorial Reviews

Initially lumped in with Westlife, Boyzone, etc., as just another fabricated pop boy group, Five were one of the few bands who actually did stand out from the crowd. Eschewing soppy love songs in favor of far more in-your-face rowdy pop, Five bounced onto the scene with attitude, slightly more streetwise styling than their contemporaries, and some truly great pop tunes. From the inspired sampling of Joan Jett's "I Love Rock & Roll" on "Everybody Get Up" to the sing-along-and-clap-your-hands party vibes of "Got the Feelin'," it's hard not to be seduced by Five's charm. Things do go a bit Backstreet Boys on weaker tracks like "Until the Time Is Through" and "Satisfied," but these are forgivable blips on an otherwise stellar trajectory. The opening line of "Slam Dunk (Da Funk)" says it all: Five have "the power to rock you.

4.0 out of 5 stars Five is ALIVE!, January 5, 2000
This review is from: Five: The Album (Audio CD)
Yes, Five is British pop group of (five) guys. But unlike the other so called "boybands" Five cowrote several songs on their debut album. And, although Five does not have a very talented lead singer (think Nick Carter and Chris Kirkpatrick mixed up), I love their rapping! Note: Don't get this for a child who is not yet in middle school, I wouldn't call it appropriate for that age level.

1. When The Lights Go Out - This is a really fun song, with no corny lines in it. The guy is telling his girl that he knows he has treated her bad, but he'll show her "what it's all about" when the lights go out.

2. That's What You Told Me - I love this song! This differentiates Five from most of the teen bands out right now, because they aren't afraid of doing a song that is basically, get out, don't wanna see you no more, etc. Yes, on the BSB's new album they have ONE song like that, and Nsync's '00 album has one too, but Five has 2 great tributes to nasty ex-girlfriends that the guys can relate too. Yes, I'm a girl, but I still enjoy the song.

3. It's the things You Do - Very cool! The album version has the rap on it, the single is all singing(I prefer the rap version). This is one of my favorite tracks, because of the lyrics and continous beat.

4. When I remember When - Could be a perfect summer love song. Unfortunately, their lead singer (I think Scott) sounds WAY too whiny. SOrry, dude. I like your voice alright, but they lyrics are WAY better.

5. Slam Dunk Da Funk - It's ok, but have NO IDEA why they released it. There are plenty of way better tracks on the album.

6. Satisfied - I like this song more than When I Remember when. Maybe 'cause it isn't as sad, and Five sounds more like real guys (meaning the lyrics aren't I'd die without you, never break your heart, I'd give everything I own, etc. Love the Boys, but I love Five too.)

7. It's All Over - Think That's What You Told Me, but just as good without being repetitive.

8. Partyline - Pretty fun song to have a party to.

9. Until the Time Is through - Has the same beat as When I remember WHen, same whiny voice, same sad lyrics. But it's a nice song. I still like When I remember WHen more, though.

10. Everybody Get Up - Very cool! A rock song glorifying Five in such a bad-boy, punk-rock style I don't know if I love it or hate it...;)

11. My Song - Love the beat, great party tune

12. Got The Feelin' - Nothingmuch, just a feel-happy kinda song (it isn't about love, though)

So, I wanted to give this 3 and 1/2 stars, but I can't figure out how to do that. But if your boyfriend hates pop/boy bands, and you want to surprise him, get him this. Don't mean to stereotype, since I love it too.

5.0 out of 5 stars Almost as great as 'N Sync!, November 1, 1999
By A Customer
This review is from: Five: The Album (Audio CD)
I am a HUGE 'N Sync fan, and I was skeptic to actually accept another boyband to like, but I love 5ive! They're just the perfect mix for me- pop and rap. They're not as musically talented as 'N Sync, and not quite as cute, and maybe have a little more edge to them, but still they're just about having fun and they're music is awesome! Plus, Ritchie is so adorable! I don't like "That's what you told me" but I love "It's the things you do", "when I remember when", and "got the feelin"

5.0 out of 5 stars 5ive is the best group to hit the earth, February 20, 2000

5ive is the best group. I always listen to their music to perk me up. Their music just has this excitment that most aritst dont have. The rap gets you up to dance, while the slow songs(sang by SCOTT and Richie) mellow you out and calm you down. This CD would be a great gift for anyone who likes music
