5.0 out of 5 stars The overlooked gem
My oh my. How many of these classic discs must I find unheralded?
So you've heard of Dirty Looks, maybe even bought 'Cool From the Wire', and wonder how this one stacks up? It's a crime, that this album went virtually unknown when it came out. Nirvana had just turned the music world upside-down when Dirty Looks released this straight-ahead, hard rock riff assault...

versus
3.0 out of 5 stars "Dirty Looks - Five Easy Pieces" Cool From the Wire is better
3 out of 5 stars. I do like Cool From the Wire Better. I agree with the other review comparing them to a cross between Kix and AC/DC. That is the same thought I had. Not a bad disc but I would start with the other title listed first.

Nirvana had just turned the music world upside-down when Dirty Looks released this straight-ahead, hard rock riff assault. This album is by far their best. Hesitate no longer, trust me and buy this record. AC/DC meets KIX meets GnR. That good enough for you? Highlights: Blue Tequila, Five Easy Pieces, Back to Marseilles, Violence In Blue (you really can't do without this one from Dirty Looks! Some others of theirs in the 90's were iffy--but NOT this one.) ROCK ON!

5.0 out of 5 stars ONE FUN RIDE !!!!, December 22, 2011
This review is from: Five Easy Pieces (Audio CD)

Dirty Look's album 5 Easy Pieces is one of their best releases. I'd put it right on par with Turn of the Screw if not a tad bit better. Every song on this disc kicks butt from beginning to end. I also enjoy Henriks lyrics on this collection, often very funny but seriously crafted. Henrik can write a song for sure, and play a burning guitar. The band is very tight and rocking on 5 Easy
Pieces putting together some real ACDC sounding rock but in Dirty Looks style !

I luckily have all the Dirty Looks cds original of course. It is too bad that no one as of yet has done a re-release of One Bad Leg, Turn of the Screw, Chewing on the Bit or 5 Easy Pieces. Thus making them all out of print, rare, and growing more expensive to obtain everyday. The prices on these classics will only continue to go up. So chances are there are alot of people who will never hear them and know what a very underrated band they were. And thats a shame ! Its taking me just about the whole of this year to collect all of the above original cds at 20.00 to 25.00 a piece and to me each one was a bargain being that each case and cd were in mint condition, and so hard to find.

So if there is anyone who is interested in Dirty Looks and havent heard them , I highly recommend any of their disc to you. Keep looking and digging and asking and if ya get lucky like I did you too can have them all. And I believe that just like gold they are each an investment that will only increase with time. That is as long as this stuff is never re-released. As for me Im holding on to mine forever ! rock on people !

This cd is one I never get tired listening to. Dirty Looks was always over looked as a great rock band and this album has nothing but great rock n roll on it from song one to the end. The first song Blue Tequila is one of the best songs I have ever heard. It's one of my top 10. Let It rain is a great bluesy ballad. Gas House Sally is kick ass rock n roll. The Last Forever is a song you just sit back and enjoy. Yeah it's a ballad but one of the best songs on the album. If you like great rock n roll then get the cd and enjoy.
