About the Author

Larry Ainsworth is a senior consultant at the Center for Performance Assessment. He travels extensively throughout the United States assisting school districts in implementing standards and standards-based performance assessments in the K-12 classroom. He also conducts seminars in data-driven decision making, as well as workshops based on his books Student-Generated Rubrics and Five Easy Steps to a Balanced Math Program. With 24 years experience as an upper elementary and middle school classroom teacher in demographically diverse schools, Larry holds a master's degree in educational administration.

Jan Christinson has 25 years of teaching experience in primary, intermediate, and middle school grades and currently teaches seventh grade mathematics. He also instructs beginning teachers in MSAT test preparation classes at several California state universities. Jan is past co-chair of his district's K-12 math committee, a multiple-term district math mentor, and co-author of the CAMP-LA calculator materials.
