I love this song. It makes me feel like I'm living in the 1800's. It reminds me of the perils of living in a simple time. The song illustrates a time when families didn't have much and there were dangers, but families were close. I don't know, maybe I'm over thinking it, but I really like the portrait that Cash paints in the song.

Topic line says it all. The man in black is truly an American country music icon. Take time to listen to the words in his songs. They always tell a story we all can relate to.

I'd been looking for this song for so long, I almost didn't look here! This version sounds like one I'd heard as a kid, so I bought it. Very good quality MP3 song, very clear
