I truly liked this book a lot. It's a picture/photo book of some of the most interesting architecture around and about Greater London. While I am certain there are so very buildings and sites that could not be added to this book, it still gives a flavor of the atmosphere and the history of one of the world's greatest cities.

The choices of buildings also give a sense of the power seated in London, and the influence of this city on the world at large.

One can also see the pride of the British in this jewel of a city. I highly recommend this book to the armchair traveler, or to anyone who simply wishes to become familiar with this city before going to see it first hand.

The book trades off the size of photos with amount of descriptive text - with large photos winning. This is exactly the opposite of all other guide books - with the text (long captions) at the back end of the book. Unfortunately the text only has abbreviated titles.Tthe name of the architect, the address, and other pragmatic information is only on the page with the photograph. Thus, it is hard to browse the text but easy and delightful to browse the excellent photographs. Maps are smallish and a little hard to read but they do have appropriate detail.
