Ray Zardetto's parody of Mitch Albom's beautuiful book is a clever romp through what life must be like growing up on the Jersey shore and working at one of the famed Ma Bell spinoffs. It is well conceived and witty in places, though much of the humor is slapstick. What really shines in the book is his character development; all of his 'jerks' seem real, especially his ex-boss, a clueless New Jersey technology executive. While the book is nowhere near as inspirational or thought provoking as Albom's book, it is entertaining, and the plot twist at the end will have readers (especially men) reevaluating some of their relationships. Definitely worth a read.

The author uses his quick wit, dry sense of humor and flair for writing to describe what many of us go through after suddenly being shown the door after years of dedication at a company. But he doesn't harp on the issue and quickly moves on to many other of life's imperfections and brings to life some incredibly colorful characters and places. A quick read that leaves a lasting memory. Great for those who are hard pressed to actually get to the last chapter of any book.

This is a fun, quick read with memorable charaters and funny situations. The ending is a nice twist and overall it represents a fantasy we have all had at one time or another.

Ray Zardetto's parody showcased his witty sense of humor, wacky world (other worldly) view and a talent for painting a scene. This was a light, fun read -- a pleasing surprise from this first-time author. His funny jokes and dialogue, well-described characters and ending twist made it a new favorite. Can't wait to read more.

Loved this book. First, read 5 people you meet in heaven, which is a good book, but very serious. This book (different author) takes that and puts a whole new spin on it. Funny, easy to read, great book to read on the plane. I have shared this with my book club and friends. I LOVE AMAZON PRIME

Al Mitchell dies in his forties and goes to heaven. he's supposed to meet the 5 most important people in his life, but they are eternally busy meeting with others they've influenced. As a consolation prize, Al gets to get even with the five biggest jerks from his life on earth. Sounds mean-spirited, but not as much as you would think, and the book is actually a lot of fun. Don't expect theological correctness or anything like that. This book is just a joy to read and speaks to the loser in each one of us and our own innate desire to level the playing field.

There are two or three pages where the ink the book is very light, and the pages are tough to read. Hopefully, a new edition of Jerks will come out.

I'm enjoying reading this book! I read the 5 people you meet in Heaven about a year ago and am enjoying this one as well.

I was pretty disappointed by this book. I was expecting something "hilarious" (as described by the back of the book cover) but the I couldn't stand the lame punchlines and roll-your-eyes kind of humor the author used. As for the story line itself, it was alright. There were a few dashes of creativity here and there.

This is not one of those books that make you go "ahh, what a good book!" or after you finish reading it. I felt like I just wasted time, but..it is an easy, light-hearted read if you have nothing better to do.

A gift for a family member who doesn't like to read. However, he was so intrigued by the title he promised to read it. I'll have to let you in on the book report! I can always find those gifts for the "hard to buy for" on Amazon!

This was a gift purchase. It took a little longer than I expected to get to me. I was a little disapointed by the sellers delivery time.
