Christelow has a way with the five little monkeys...my 2 1/2 year old daughter loves each edition and this one is no exception. She enjoys the crocodiles and the trouble that the monkeys have selling their car. The illustrations are really well done. What's nice is that the ending is not scary at all and the monkeys succeed!

Quick delivery. Book in excellent condition. My grandchildren (toddlers) love the entire 5 Little Monkeys series....and so do I!!

This is yet another great book in the 5 little monkeys series. Its fun reading it to the kids and you can build in a lesson or two about how imp it is to help clean the car and use your brains on how to get out of some tight spots !

I bought a few of the Five Little Monkeys books to read to my 3 year old son. We really like them overall, however some are more engaging than others. This one is really fun to read and he loves it. The monkeys don't just wash the car. They paint designs on it and sell it to some crocodiles. Good fun story.

My grandkids love the Five Little Monkeys series. They ask me, "Bella, do you have another one?"

The Five Little Monkeys books are classics. My wife and I bought four of them and our boy and he loves them. In this edition, the mother is tired of the junky family car and decides to sell it. Her five little bundles of joy decide to spiff it up to sell it. They have a run in with the crocodiles again but all ends up well in the end. It's good for a young child who is learning to read and the artwork is well done. I highly recommend this book.

If your child likes the "5 little monkeys", this is a good book. It rhymes and has a funny ending. I would recommend it.

Eileen Christelow, Five Little Monkeys Wash the Car (Clarion, 2000)

I always knew that when Eileen Christelow got away from straight nursery-rhyme retellings these Five Little Monkeys books were going to get good. This one confirms my suspicions quite nicely, as Christelow comes up with a fun plot and adds it to the usual zany antics of the monkey children. Mom wants to sell their rattletrap old car, but it looks a mess, so the kids decide to wash it. And, of course, washing it isn't quite enough, so they go farther and farther until things become entirely absurd, as they always do in Five Little Monkey-land. That is, of course, just how we like them. A fun entry in a fun series. *** ½

My 3-year old son is a big 5 little monkeys fan and he loves cars, so this book has been a real hit. It's a very cute rhyming story, and has quickly become one of his favorites!

The pictures tell the story and both my kids (4 and 2) are able to tell each other the story.
