4.0 out of 5 stars This is a very handy book with nice hair styles.
This was a very nice book to find. The styles inside are easy to execute and classic in look. There were styles for all lengths of hair, although women with very short hair will find the selections for them limited. With only a little practice I was able to make all the styles I was interested in. A nice touch was the inclusion of models with a variety of hair...

2.0 out of 5 stars Not very diverse
I did not find this book very diverse regarding hairstyles. It has a lot of variations of the same types of styles. Not good if you are looking for different types of braids.

There were styles for all lengths of hair, although women with very short hair will find the selections for them limited. With only a little practice I was able to make all the styles I was interested in. A nice touch was the inclusion of models with a variety of hair textures (thin; thick; wavy; straight). Everyone will find something in it appropriate for their hair.

The Five-Minutes Hair Stylist book gives you great tips on how to manage and maintain the health of your hair, it also gives you plenty of advice. The book takes you step by step to create a great hairstyle. I would mostly recommend it for people with long hair.

5.0 out of 5 stars Focus on Hair - A Natural Beauty, January 9, 2002

The practical yet classic hairstyles are so well illustrated, thus easy to execute. Perfect styles for working at home or an evening at the symphony. These styles play up the natural beauty of a woman's hair. Hair is too pretty in and of itself to be permed, teased and tormented. Herein lies the perfect alternative - a way to have attractive, manageable long hair without damaging the hair, rather framing the beauty of it. As the author of, Pearls of Country Wisdom, I love the simple elegance for my country existence.

5.0 out of 5 stars Different !, April 25, 2011
This review is from: The Five Minute Hair Stylist (Hardcover)
I know some of the hairstyles might seem a bit outdated.. but heck.. I think vintage is always in style .. umm except for polyester pants ! There are some fun styles to try ! They also have great step by step color pictures to show how to get the particular style you're going for.

There's about 5 chapters...

1- THE FIVE-MINUTE APPROACH 6

2- AT HOME 20

3- IN THE CITY 42

4- NIGHT AND DAY 62

INDEX 88

The first chapter covers haircare from washing/drying/curlers to scalp care, hair products and accessories to secure hair in place. It also shows you how to french braid and do a french twist (I think.. or french roll).

This book is so worth having !! I dislike hairstyling guides that don't really explain much.. just jumps into a style.. like you're supposed to know what to do already.

**For 5 minutes a day.. who wouldn't want to try a different look, or use it as a guide and go crazy !

This book is basic.. which is a good thing.. not many people are willing to Lady GaGa their hair. (Not that I don't appreciate Lady Gaga.. it's just as a wife and mother... there's just some things that I can't get away with.. especially in the workplace !

4.0 out of 5 stars It is inspiring, October 6, 2010

This book presents many practical styles for everyday life. It inspired me to create many other styles too. However, some of styles are hard to manage. I suspect that the instructions are not clear enough.
