This review is from: Five O'clock Shadow (Audio CD)
Frank Bennet = Frank Sinatra + Tony Bennet.

Imagine a 30 year old Tony Bennet singing Red Hot Chili Peppers "Under the Bridge." Sound ridiculous? It works! Oh, it works so good. I first heard this guy while I was in Australia about 10 years ago. This is music for people who dig big band jazz and have a great sense of humor. His version of Radiohead's "Freak" is just superb and I never thought I would like a Michael Jackson song until I heard Bennet's version of "The Way You Make Me Feel." These are great jazz renditions of contemporary pop-rock-grunge hits and it is just great. Take a listen to Paul Anka's "Rock Swings" album and then imagine it cranked up two notches, maybe three.

This album is difficult to describe beyond what I've written, but this guy is a talented crooner with a great sense for how to manipulate a song for emphasis and humor. I can't recommend this enough.
