Successful New Direction for OBD,
By A Customer
This review is from: Five (Audio CD)
After four CDs, the Old Blind dogs return. But the sound is rather different now with the addition of border pipes and saxophone. I personally found this resulted in some real exciting material, mixed with the distinctive fiddle and percussion the band had already established. It's for these instrmental sets that I'd recommend the CD. As far as the few songs go, 'The Battle of Harlaw' is the only real worthwhile one, so fans of Ian Benzie's singing might be disappointed. But the CD stands up well on its own merits.

A diamond in the rough,
By A Customer
This review is from: Five (Audio CD)
I just found this when walking by it in a music store and decided to listen to it. It was unbelievable. The group works together very well and their sound is haunting and enchanting at the sime time. I had never heard them before, but they quickly became my favorite CD. The music brings you along on a journey and the singing calms. This is one of the best finds I ever made and it all happened by chance.

I was just thinking of this CD the other day. I bought it ten years ago, and I would buy it again. It has songs on it that I couldn't find anyplace else, that I didn't think anyone had recorded. Excellent and soulful.
