What mom has the time to document anything, let alone their own thoughts!

I can definitely find time to fill in and I like that u can skip around to any page any day. if u see a subject u like just fill in that page.
BHG
A lot of the questions are very thought provoking and could make you want to write a lot more.

This journal was a big disappointment. I wish the item description was more detailed as to who this journal would be best suited for. I am a mommy of a daughter that is 2 years old (almost 3).
The majority of the journal entry questions just were not suited for a newer mommy like myself. The questions seemed more suited for a mommy with a child at least 5 years old and older because it is more likely that a child of that age would have experienced the journeys and events that the book questions.
Another huge disappointment was that I felt this journal did not take into account that not all mommy's are married or still in a relationship with a significant other. I am raising my daughter on my own because I am separated from her father due to domestic violence. There were so many pages that would be impossible to complete because they involved your "significant other". Such a big let down for all those single mommy's out there.
I also had expected that this journal's primary theme would have to do with events and occasions that primarily involved a mommy and her child. But nope, there were just way too many pages that could only be filled in by a mommy who is married or in a very committed relationship.
I felt his journal was such a painful disappointment to all those single mommy's,( like myself) who are going to be stuck with a lot of blank entries because their family situation did not allow them to answer all those journal entries involving your significant other.

What a lovely idea! This purse-sized journal isn't just a blank notebook whose pages scold you to fill it with profound thoughts and clever observations. What new mom has profound thoughts and clever observations?! And even when we do, who has time to jot them down? "Mom's Five-Second Memory Journal" is perfect for the harried, brain-dead mom who nevertheless feels life flashing past and longs to record the moments for posterity. I particularly appreciated the inclusiveness. The continuous reference to "significant others" will make this journal accessible to same-sex or other non-traditional (so to speak) couples. It's a lovely little gift, just in time for Mother's Day.

I'm not lazy but I'm really busy. I work full-time and have two kids. I want to have baby books for them but I never got around to starting them. But this book lets me pick up where I am now and record stuff like how motherhood makes me feel and funny stuff my kids say. For example, my 5 year old's definition of bacon: "It's crispy, squiggly, and fun for kids."

I try to keep a variety of journals for my kids and future grandkids when they're old (some of my most magical memories are of reading the letters my Baba wrote my Deido when he was in the Navy during WWII. I liked the idea of this one--- one liners about a variety of topics, very quick to accomplish.

However, this journal falls prey to what I consider the sarcastic/cynical approach to parenting. Example: "The other day my significant other called me "Mommy". I think this is: (choose one) "Super Sweet, Completely Adorable, Psychotic, Freudian, Other ______" Some people probably think this is hilarious; it's just not my thing.

Overall, I'd say about half of the questions are in line with what I was looking for.

I bought this journal after reading reviews and descriptions of other journals for mothers. I am a very busy mom with two small children who works about hundred hours a week. I love the idea of keeping a journal but hate the idea of "Dear diary" type of journal. This one is a lot of fun! It has fun questions and the ability to check off feelings about things rather than having to write every single feeling down. If then gives you a few lines to fill in your own thoughts. I think one day my children would get a kick out of reading this. It covers a wide array of every day things such as what I think of when I hear dinner, holiday, dear, hope. If someone wrote a song about me it would be and they give you choices to check off or you can check off other and fill in the blank. I think if you're really honest in this journal your children can learn more about you in years to come them what you can show them on a daily basis. Because sometimes or showing our children is and always was going on in her head. The book is a little small and that's why didn't give it five stars. It's a little difficult to write in because of it being so small and hard covered. There are certain thoughts that I had more than five seconds to work on and I wish I would've had a little bit more room for those. However, I've just added those thoughts on an extra piece of paper and paperclip them inside. This is a great book for very busy moms!

I was looking for a journal to help me keep track of different things after the initial year. This is not the journal for that. It's about the mom, not the kids. There is not a lot of space for just writing and the questions aren't very encompassing... For example, the very first page asks you something about your ideal Sunday... And none of the choices involve church which was surprising considering what did make the list. Little things like that lead it being 'garage saled' because I filled out the inside cover before truly looking at the pages.
