Have you become locked into a life that really doesn't satisfy you anymore...if it ever did? Do you dream about a different lifestyle that would be more fulfilling than just day-to-day existence? This book will help you break out of your routine, hum-drum, and ho-hum stress-filled survival mode and into a much more rewarding experience.

Pat Lynch is a change agent who typifies the "been-there, done-that" knowledge base from which to advise others to go a different direction. The Five Secrets is a combination of advice and insight from a helpful friend, admonition and chiding from someone who cares, and a workbook to define your dream and design how you'll achieve it.

You can easily read through this entire book in one sitting, and you should. Then go back and read it again and again more carefully. Each time you read it, you'll discover something new. This is one of those books that's filled with a lot more wisdom than meets the eye in first reading. The Five Secrets are a guide to finding happiness during the balance of your life, wherever you are in the process.

5.0 out of 5 stars The 5 Secrets by Pat Lynch, December 20, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: The Five Secrets: What You're NOT Supposed To Know Because It Will Set You Free And Change Your Life Forever! (Hardcover)
I love this book. It was one of the first self-esteem, personal empowerment books I had purchased. Though many newer books have taken the concepts to new levels, I still enjoy Pat's straighforward, no-nonsense advice and approach to esteem building. Year's back, when I ordered this book, Pat Lynch actually called to thank me. That was a delightful surprise. It's a simple and easy read with some terrific exercises to help you start your journey of self-estem building or continue the journey you have already begun. I remember reading a review previously about Pat's book. The reviewer had written, "Nothing new in here." I suppose that's true. At the time it was written and the time that I read it, it was all new to me. It's packed with good, common-sense advice but isn't it amazing how "uncommon" common-sense can be? It seems to me that most of us know what we need to do, we just don't do it. No "new" stuff needed. I found Pat's words encouraging.

5.0 out of 5 stars Resistance Is NOT Futile..., June 7, 2009
By
This review is from: The Five Secrets: What You're NOT Supposed To Know Because It Will Set You Free And Change Your Life Forever! (Hardcover)
Family, friends, and even society are quite often more influential in our lives than we would like to believe. It is not unusual to hear things like: "You can't do that." "No one has done that before." "You will never be successful at that, you need to reconsider what you're doing." And my all time favorite one is, "You can't change that, we've ALWAYS done it that way."

Quite often, these words of advice are not taken with a grain of salt, instead, we allow them to stop us from pursuing a dream that no one else shares.

NO MORE!

It is very difficult to resist these words of "encouragement," but I'm here to tell you that resistance is NOT futile. Resistance can alter your future, stop you from chasing that dream or leading the life that we really, deep down inside want, need, desire to live.

Pat Lynch has given us all permission to chase our dreams, live our lives as WE desire and to let others live their lives as well.

The Five Secrets are not really secrets. The real secret is that each and everyone of us have had the thoughts that are in this wonderful book, but never had permission to follow them. Pat Lynch has changed all of that. He unlocked the shackles that have bound us all and has given us all permission to follow our hearts, chase our dreams, and live OUR life, not the life someone else thinks we SHOULD be living.

THE FIVE SECRETS will change your life... remember, Resistance Is NOT Futile.

Thank you Pat.

5.0 out of 5 stars He's got a secret! Five, in fact., September 9, 2003
This review is from: The Five Secrets: What You're NOT Supposed To Know Because It Will Set You Free And Change Your Life Forever! (Hardcover)
I've been subscribing to Pat Lynch's online column for several years. As a writer, I have been drawn to his powerful use of language. As a human being, I have been drawn to his ability to make me think and feel, and do something differently than I would have done it before. So, when I got my copy of "The Five Secrets," I eagerly took it out of the box, knowing that he would soon be taking me out of my box. Out of my box of not believing in myself, into a world of faith and courage and kindness. With his five secrets, he compassionately guides us back to ourselves. And, in the process, he passionately and openly shares his own heart, splashed across the page. Thanks, Pat. We needed this! Now, we've all got a secret. Five, in fact.

5.0 out of 5 stars You are the best, go for it, September 3, 2003

This review is from: The Five Secrets: What You're NOT Supposed To Know Because It Will Set You Free And Change Your Life Forever! (Hardcover)
I live in England UK and am fortunate to have a copy of this wonderful book. The Five Secrets by Pat Lynch really teaches one how to think "Out of the Box" and achieve your dreams, whether it be in business or the same principles can apply to in my case 'sport'.

I train at ice dance, had a bad accident which destroyed my confidence, it has been hard to regain it. After reading "The Five Secrets" my skating instructor commented on how much my skating had improved as I was 'going for it' rather than holding back. Thank you Pat for helping me achieve my lifetime ambition.

A great book which everyone should read and continue to refer to

Does America need another self-help book right now? It does if it's as clear, energized and thoughtful as "The Five Secrets."
Pat Lynch combines a straightforward message with a relentless drive to motivate the reader. He refuses to let you get away as he keeps pushing home his message. That message centers on people realizing their own strength; their own power to take control of their lives.
Throughout my reading of the book I kept taking deep breaths and saying "Yeah!" The simple but undeniable truths Lynch writes about will stay with me.
