I was dismayed to find that this album has never been released on CD in the U.S., that "How Long" is the only track from it that's available on iTunes (etc.), and that the one "Best of" Ace compilation CD released domestically by a specialty label is long out of print and going for ridiculous prices in online auctions. However, once I faced the fact that I was going to have to order an import or else take my chances trying to convert from vinyl to .mp3 using a USB turntable, the price of this title didn't seem too outrageous. The album originally came out when I was 15; I bought it on vinyl and loved almost all of the cuts on it. I find now that it has a nice, laid-back ensemble sound, displaying a wide variety of influences ranging from Steve Winwood to Steve Wonder, to which every band member contributes significantly. What a refreshing contrast with some of the more-notable late-70s excesses, such as Van Halen with its one frenetic, over-the-top guitar and little else to speak of. I put Paul Carrack in the same class with Steve Winwood in terms of singing and keyboard-playing, and he was never better than on this album.

I just downloaded this album from iTunes. Ten bucks.
After all these years it holds up pretty well.
