I used this book, after being placed on the J.V. team at my high School my junior year. I had very little skill at all, but wanted desperately to become a better ball player. After purchasing this book, I used the drills in it for only 2 months and improved my game to a whole new level. I not only made the varsity team that next year, but was a starter and had a very good senior year. Since graduating, I have coached at the high school level, and this book worked wonders for the team. I have also used this book to work with younger individuals, and seen drastic improvement in their abilities. I would recommend this book to any young person who wants to better his/her skills, and to any coach to strengthen their teams fundamental abilities

This book is a classic. I can not believe that there are not more reviews giving this book the priase it deserves. If you want to become better at basketball you must not only practice consistantly, but you must know the correct techniques and moves to practice. This book is basically a complete reference of drills for every position that have been used at the nations premire basketball camp - five star. When Trajon Langdon started out as a freshman at duke this book recieved a lot of attention because Trajon, being from Alaska, did not have great exposure to a wide variety of basketball camps. Trajon bought this book and used the drills in it to make him the player he became. Every highschool player and coach should own a copy of this book if they are serious about improvement.

Garfinkel and Klein built one of the most prestigious basketball camps in the industry by focusing on transmitting fundamental and advanced knowledge of the game. You don't go to Five-Star for the food or accommodations. It's a basketball boot camp and this book allows you to take the timeless drills home with you.

Good for teenagers but not for youth.
HArd to read.
Too much bragging about former legends.

This book has so many great drills, it can't help but improve your players' conditioning and skills. It's full of great ideas and workouts I would have never discovered otherwise, highly recommended.

This is a very good book for all coaches. If you like to work all the basic stuff for your team, you can get some ideas from this book. I managed to work some of the exercises in my team [youths at age of 13 (boys)] and I have very good results...
A "must have" book!!!

The Five Star Basketball Camps are legendary for helping players develop basic and advanced skills. Many of the same drills used at the camps are explained in this book.

It is a great source of information and ideas for youth basketball coaches, middle school/junior high coaches, sub-varsity coaches and varsity coaches.

It includes details about how to get the finer points of a given skill across to players.

A solid resource for coaches.

This book is very informative for anyone trying to better their basketball knowledge and skill level.

This book offers a plethora of drills and advice for parents who want to coach their kid's team. The diagrams and explanations are thorough and the drills can be adapted for children ages 11 and up.
