To be completely honest, this is one of the best ones I've owned. Its sturdy and long enough to keep my tabs in place and the colors are pretty. The customizable cover is def a plus. Love it!

Love this binder - especially the front "window" which makes it great for inserting any "right now" documents.

Oh, and you can't beat a PINK binder!

This is a sturdy binder built to last. The single-piece construction bends in 4 places instead of 2 to distribute the wear resulting in a longer-lasting binder. The 3-ring mechanism is sturdy but not super-heavy duty.

I got the pink, which is mostly pink but with just a hint of peach color mixed in.

The front cover has a slip-in pocket that holds a full size sheet of paper so you can customize the cover. The clear cover has a slightly rough finish like a frost shower curtain, so the picture behind it can be a little unclear unless it is pressed right up to the cover.

The binder is about 3/4" wider than most of our other binders, which helps protect the paper edges. The "five star" emblem on the front wears off quickly, but who cares.

I like that I can change the cover whenever I want, and the durability is a big plus. A friend has the same binder and so far it has lasted a whole school year and is holding up great.

Not good looking. The frosted window in the front cover doesn't lay flat on the inserted printed page, so a lot of it can't be read. It is solid flexible plastic with the hinges scored, so It is reluctant to lay open flat, and doesn't stay closed well either, and I don't know how long those hinges will last.
They welded the pocket on the inside of the front cover to back up the window which makes it heavier. They included one insert/divider page.with half height pockets on both sides.
The rings are round, the latches not too hard to operate.
I don't see why this is worth the cost...
I added an inside pic.

This binder is fun. It's pretty. And it's customizable. For my pinkalicious 10-year-old, this is the perfect binder.

But, as overall binder functionality goes, it's definitely average.

- The cover is flexible. Obviously, that's a preference issue - some will like this. Others will be caught up in the mentality that binder covers should be stiff. Since this is not clear in the description summaries, some customers will be frustrated.
- The clearview pocked is easy to use, and the plastic cover is durable. It is slightly frosted, but that does not seem to alter the visibility of what is inside the pocket.
- The rings are not overly tight, which is very nice. They are not the easy-open rings that I prefer, but they are not difficult to open and close. They also seem to meet well in the center, keeping pages from being torn up.

I honestly don't know how durable this flexible cover will be. My daughter uses it for her American Heritage Girls material. It doesn't get stuffed in a backpack, but it does get opened and closed a good deal as she fills it on a weekly basis. Interior pockets would be helpful, but the included pocketed divider helps make up for that and just might be a little more durable than the standard binder cover pockets.

Bottom line: It's a little different from the normal binder around our house, but it still fits right in as an average school product. My daughter enjoys it, so we're all happy!

My daughter perked up when this bright pink binder was pulled out of the box and she immediately cried, 'dibs'.

What's cool about this binder is the color and the front window. The latter has a slightly frosted cover which is framed --which is in contrast to the usual plastic inserts where the clear plastic covers the entire front panel.

The pink shown in the photo, by the way, DOES NOT match the pink I received. My pink binder is not fushia but a very 'girlie' middle pink, with vivid bright saturation. [It's close to #F45F70 // (244,95,112) on my laptop]

THINGS YOU NEED TO KNOW
This bright pink binder has the old style circular rings. At least initially it will not lay down flat. Unlike other binders it does not have inside pockets that are a part of the front and back. Instead it has a smokey gray insert with two pockets.

What stands out, besides the cheerful color, is the way that the front has a 'framed' insert area for a coversheet. Like other binders this is a cool feature but not one that is easy to use. Getting a regular sheet of paper in there is a challenge. At least for me.

Prices for binders vary tremendously, so I advise you shop around.

I want to like this binder more than I do. I love the pink color (easy to spot). It's fairly light. It's flexible so it's easy to grab out of my totebag. It holds my calendar and all the papers I need to stay organized at school. (I'm a teacher, not a student) I don't need a binder to open flat (this doesn't), so it's perfect.

EXCEPT

It does not have interior pockets. Five Star gives you a storage pocket thing that clips into the binder. But it's not as useful or convenient as having a pocket on the inside cover. This binder has a "clearview" cover, which is not clear but more....frosted. Other than slipping cute student artwork inside, I don't have any use for it.

I would, however, really use an interior pocket. And that's the main difference between my 3-star review and a 4 or 5-star review.
