3.0 out of 5 stars cute story
I felt that this story began slowly and then started to get interesting, only to end on a boring note. There was lots of daydreaming between the two main characters, but not enough conversation. Marty talked more "about" Will than "with" Will. I also think that the story ended too abruptly. The ending was building and building, and then all of a sudden it just...

This review is from: Five Star Expressions - Dream House (Hardcover)
In Eugene, Oregon, Home Masters realtor Marty Francis escorts a couple to a fixer upper house only to have some maniac come out of the basement dripping wet and yelling. The sale fell through in Marty's mind because of the handyman. Marty informs George Lane, who is selling the house, that his handyman cost a sale and provided a few tips on making the place look better. George, used to corporate real estate, took the house on as a favor for his college pal Will Hart, who is selling it for the couple he considers his family.

George lectures Will. He also arranges a meeting between Will and Marty to discuss the house. Marty gives Will tips and he immediately acts on them. As they begin to fall in love, he sees her with a client Ralph Gordon. They care for one another, but not as lovers only friends. Will misinterprets their relationship and flees from Marty making it seem impossible for anything permanent to occur in spite of love.

This engaging real estate romance stars two delightful lead protagonists and a fine support crew especially her clients and her fellow workers at Home Masters except for one odious cheating creep who readers will want to see get his comeuppance. The romance is fun to follow as neither Marty (due to divorce from a runaway husband who left her with bills) nor is Will (whose wife died in an accident) ready for love (though their respective hesitations do not fully come across). Fans of second chance at love tales will enjoy visiting DREAM HOUSE.

I felt that this story began slowly and then started to get interesting, only to end on a boring note. There was lots of daydreaming between the two main characters, but not enough conversation. Marty talked more "about" Will than "with" Will. I also think that the story ended too abruptly. The ending was building and building, and then all of a sudden it just stopped!! Overall, though, this was a cute, light, and easy read.
